Qian Sijie, a native of Pingyin, Shandong Province, is a famous news photographer. /kloc-0 was born in Heilongjiang in June, 1928, and/kloc-0 joined the army in June, 1946. He has successively served as a military photojournalist for Northeast Pictorial, Northeast Democratic Allied Forces, the Sixth Column of the Northeast People's Liberation Army, the 40th Army of the Fourth Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, a photojournalist for the Press and Photography Bureau of the Central Information Office, the Director of the Information Office of the Chinese people's Volunteer Army Armistice Negotiating Delegation, a reporter for the Central Press Group of Xinhua News Agency, a photojournalist for Xinhua News Agency branches in Cairo, Algeria and Congo, and a full-time photojournalist for President Mao Zedong.
