How to shoot a blockbuster with a mobile phone

Nowadays, more and more people travel, especially professional photographers, who often go out for inspiration. But the heavy camera is not convenient to travel, but the mobile phone often accompanies people. Therefore, how to shoot a blockbuster with a mobile phone has to be discussed. When it comes to shooting scenic blockbusters with mobile phones, it is difficult for us to shoot those spectacular scenes due to the limitation of mobile phone lenses, so we have to use methods such as composition, color, light and shadow to highlight the shooting subject and avoid this deficiency.

First, the preparation work before shooting:

1, keep the lens clean, and the light will diffract when it encounters obstacles.

2, practice your arm strength, don't shake your hands when shooting, the scenery film contains rich colors, and each pixel has its own unique color. Shake it and it will be distorted (hmm! I have obsessive-compulsive disorder! )。 If you have no confidence in your arm strength, you can prepare a tripod.

Think twice before shooting. We first draw a picture in our mind, then put this scene in our mobile phone and shoot our imaginary picture by moving and changing the angle. Here I suggest not to use digital zoom, which is realized by changing the imaging area of photosensitive elements. It is for this reason that you will feel a lot of noise and blur when you zoom in.

4. I especially like taking pictures, often taking pictures, and want to take something different. It is recommended to buy some additional lenses and clip them in the camera of the mobile phone, with wide angle, fisheye and macro.

5. Turn on the horizontal line or grid line of the camera.

Second, the three principles of mobile phone photography

1. The mobile phone is a fixed-focus lens.

Never use the zoom function on your mobile phone. This is a fixed focus lens. The principle of fixed-focus lens photography is also applicable to mobile phone (such as iPhone) photography.

2. From idea to practice can be controlled within 10 second.

Good moments may be fleeting. There may be room to make up for the good shot and the bad shot, which are worlds apart.

Creative

If measured by traditional photography standards, mobile photography can only follow the trend of SLR. But taking photos on mobile phones is not only a beautiful photo, but also a process of improvisation, experiment and sharing on social media. This also means that you need to try bolder composition and more contingency. In the case of limited picture quality and shooting scene itself, the creativity of mobile phone photography is even more important.

Third, practical skills: composition, focusing, exposure

Here are a few practical tips about taking pictures (more for iPhone). This in itself is not complicated. It has only three parts: composition, focusing and exposure.

1. composition

There is not much difference between mobile phone and SLR composition, such as highlighting the theme. Some practical skills include:

Highlight the geometry or symmetry element in the picture:

Leave a large blank area:

Pay attention to the cooperation between the front desk and the background:

For those who are new to the square composition of Instagram, it is necessary to think that part of the picture is to be intercepted when taking pictures, which means that the picture should not be too full. Of course, there are also some apps that allow you to upload pictures that are not 1: 1 on Instagram, such as Squaready and InstaSize. (a Note: At present, Instagram can upload photos other than 1: 1. )

be concentrated

The focus of the iPhone is very simple, that is, touching the screen with your finger to focus.

In this photo, the focus is on the glass, so the people in the background are in Jiao Wai.

Although the iPhone can't focus manually, there are still some ways to take out-of-focus photos.

One is to press the shutter when the phone is in focus.

The second is to use AE/AF lock: aim at the near one, hold the screen still until AE/AF lock appears, and then aim at the far one. In this way, the whole picture is in Jiao Wai.

expose

Although the exposure of the iPhone is very automated, it does not mean that we have no room for further adjustment. One of the simplest methods is to adjust the exposure by focusing. If the whole photo is bright, focus on the bright place on the screen. If it is dark, focus on the dark place. IPhone will automatically adjust the exposure of photos according to where you focus. So until you find the right exposure value.

For example, in this photo, I focused on the sky in the upper left corner of the photo to prevent overexposure.

In this photo, I focus on the center of the light source. Because the focus is strong light, there is no noise problem that is common when mobile phones take pictures at night.

P.S. had better take photos in a well-lit place. The noise of mobile phones is particularly obvious at night and when the indoor light is insufficient. I usually avoid taking pictures in this situation.

4. Direct hot rolling

In the case of strong contrast between light and dark, the mobile phone can't accommodate various levels of shadow gradient, and the whole picture will lose a lot of details. So I usually turn on the HDR function in this case.

Another unexpected "benefit" of HDR is that it usually takes some time for the iPhone to take the next photo (applicable to the old iPhone). In this way, every time you press the shutter, you must set aside a period of time to think, instead of continuing shooting according to the original composition or exposure.

Fourth, the later period:

After the landscape film is shot, it's best to touch it up a little with retouching software. The general mobile phone gallery comes with editing software, which is completely satisfactory. Adjust the contrast and use the filter directly according to the artistic conception of the photo. If the photo quality is high, it needs to be retouched with LR, PS, etc. There is a software called PicsArt on the mobile phone, which is very powerful.
