Turtles are aquatic animals that lay eggs multiple times; generally speaking, the earliest time to lay eggs is in mid-May, and the latest time is in In early June, the end time of spawning is within a few days before and after the beginning of autumn, and the peak production period is between Eawn species and Great Heat.
Oviposition usually takes place after 10 o'clock at night. Female soft-shell turtles climb out of the water and choose shades of trees or grass on higher ground, with leeward direction and no water accumulation. They especially like to dig holes in soft and moist sandy silt soil to lay their eggs.
Mature eggs are laid all at once. If disturbed, the laying of eggs will be stopped immediately. After laying eggs, use your hind paws to scrape up the sand to cover the hole, and then use your abdomen to smooth and compact the sand without leaving any obvious traces.
Female turtles lay several clutches of eggs every year, and the number of eggs in each clutch is related to their age and nutritional status. Generally, a soft-shell turtle lays 3 to 5 clutches of eggs per year, with about 20 eggs in each clutch. The poor ones have one clutch per year, with only 2 to 5 eggs in one clutch; the good ones can have more than 5 clutches, and the number of eggs in one clutch can be as high as 30. The interval between eggs laid by the same female turtle is about 15 days, ranging from 10 days to more than a month.
The meaning of the turtle:
The turtle represents the symbol of good luck and longevity. In Chinese culture, turtles are extremely long-lived and can witness the rise and fall of the human world for hundreds of years, so they are regarded as a symbol of longevity and good luck. Turtles are reptiles of the family Chelonidae and the genus Terrapin. The head is small, less than 1/4 of the width of the carapace. The front of the head is smooth, and the back of the carapace has fine granular scales. It is a semi-aquatic, semi-dwelling, semi-terrestrial reptile.
The turtle is one of the four auspicious spirits. Our ancestors worshiped the turtle as a magical animal with special spirituality. The turtle is regarded as a symbol of good luck and a symbol of longevity. It is one of the largest divine objects, spiritual objects and mascots. It is called the "Four Spirits" together with dragon, phoenix and lin.
In fact, among the four spirits, only the tortoise is a real animal. The other dragons, phoenixes and lins are all legendary. Since they are legendary, the most we can only imagine is that only the life of the tortoise and humans is different.
