Which province does Chaoyang belong to?

Chaoyang City belongs to Liaoning Province. Liaoning Province governs prefecture-level cities, which were called Longcheng, Liucheng and Zhong Xing in ancient times. Today's Chaoyang City is adjacent to the industrial urban agglomeration in central Liaoning in the east, the coast of Bohai Sea in the south, the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan economic circle in the west and the hinterland of Inner Mongolia in the north. Both land and sea, convenient transportation and superior geographical location.

Chaoyang city is located in the step border area of the transition from Inner Mongolia Plateau to coastal plain, which belongs to mountainous and hilly areas. Chaoyang city is characterized by low mountains and hills. The terrain is high in the north and low in the west, high in the southwest and low in the east, shaped like a dustpan with an opening to the east.

According to the geomorphological origin and morphological characteristics, Chaoyang city can be divided into four topographic units: the central and western annular low mountainous area, the eastern low hilly area, the river alluvial plain and the intermountain basin. In Chaoyang City, Songling Mountain and Nurul Tiger Mountain run through the whole territory in a northeast-southwest direction, with alluvial plains and intermountain basins between them.

climate

Chaoyang lives in the northern temperate continental monsoon climate zone. Although the southeast is affected by the warm and humid ocean, the dry and cold air in the northern part of the Mongolian Plateau often invades, forming a semi-dry and semi-wet easy-to-dry area with four distinct seasons, the same season of rain and heat, abundant sunshine, large daily temperature difference and little precipitation.

There are 47 large and small rivers in Chaoyang city, and the total length of rivers flowing through the city is about 2278 kilometers. Among them, there are 5 rivers with basin area exceeding 1 10,000 square kilometers, namely Daling River, Xiaoling River, qinglong river River, Liugu River and Laoha River, with 42 tributaries. All six counties (cities) have water systems, among which Chaoyang and Beipiao counties (cities) have relatively developed water systems, and alluvial rivers form a wide strip plain. Rivers in other counties are mostly tributaries, with little water flow.

Chaoyang City is located in the step border area where the Inner Mongolia Plateau transits to the coastal plain, and it belongs to the mountainous and hilly area in western Liaoning, with insufficient water resources. Groundwater in Chaoyang area can be divided into four categories according to its geological structure and rock water-bearing characteristics: loose rock pore water, carbonate rock fissure water, clastic rock pore fissure water and bedrock fissure water.
