Kharkov State University is one of the oldest universities in the world. It was founded in 1804 under the joint promotion of the world-famous educator V.N. Karazin and Tsar Alexander I. The history of Kharkov National University contains wisdom, culture and Ukrainian historical essence. After 200 years of development, many world-renowned scholars and educators have come out from here. She is the only university in Ukraine that has trained three Nobel Prize winners in biology, economics and physics. The first president of Ukraine awarded it the title of honorary college. Since the establishment of Kharkov State University, more than130,000 graduates have been trained, about 60 of whom have become academicians of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.

Today, Kharkov State University is the flagship of higher education and scientific research in Ukraine. It consists of 18 colleges and 100 departments, with12,000 undergraduates and 400 master students. The school has more than 2,000 teachers and researchers, including 200 professors (doctors) and more than 800 associate professors (associate professors).
