Which county and village is Ding Dunling from in Linfen, Shanxi? Is it an elevator? Have you ever joined the Taiping Army?

Ding Dunling (183 1- 1886), a native of Pingyang, Shanxi, was admitted as a scholar at the age of 18. After that, he moved to Macau and settled in Paris, where he died.

China's only historical data about Ding Dunling comes from the diary of "Ding Mou in Shanxi" written by Zhang Deyi The Journey to the West, an official.

The full text of the original text is:

The fifth day was ugly, sunny and cool. Ji Ke, Zhi, Sun (I note: Zhi Gang, Sun Jiagu), parents and sisters of Qin Xian's assistant, mother and sister of the legal person Ou Jian, Ding Dunling, a native of Shanxi, stayed together at night, laughing and drinking, and Ugly began to break up. It is said that Ding Dunling's behavior is despicable. Four years ago, he married the consul's little daughter. The consul's anger originated from joining the army in Britain. When a consul died the following year, Shi Ding returned to France. Later, he abducted the sewing worker's wife, and the sewing worker informed the official and sentenced her to two years' imprisonment. Now it is the archive room of Ou Jian. According to outsiders, I'm afraid it's a guest in the curtain. I also heard that newsprint was uploaded, and Ding claimed to be a juren. I don't know if it's a pre-test of a subject. In the same year as who?

Zhang Deyi (1847- 19 19) was the most frequent minister to Europe and America in Qing Dynasty, and he was also the most proficient in English among Qing officials. He is the English teacher of the emperor and the minister in charge of issuing passports for going abroad. No one dares to question the authority of his diary. Even Mr. Qian Zhongshu, a great scholar, copied and spread it in an all-round way, giving Ding Xiucai a reputation of two centuries.

As a Shanxi scholar, I have lived in Paris and Hong Kong for many years, and I have an obligation to rehabilitate Ding Xiucai in Shanxi and restore the true face of a Shanxi scholar to later generations.

1, who is the legal person Ou Jian?

As for the legal person Ou Jian, since Qian Zhongshu, domestic researchers have identified him as a French poet Gaudi (181-1872), and explained that the legal person Ou Jian is Gaudi. I confirm that I should be Judy, Gauthie's eldest daughter, and my Chinese name is Yudide (1845- 19 17).

Zhang Deyi's diary was written on the fifth day of the first month in the eighth year of Tongzhi (1869). Gauthie's mother died in 1848, and Gauthie had two daughters, both of whom were students of Ding Xiucai. The eldest daughter's name is Yu Dide. So from the original text "the mother and sister of the legal person Ou Jian", it refers to the mother and sister of the Frenchman Yu Dide. The legal person Ou Jian is Yu Dide, no doubt!

2. "Wen Ding Dunling's character is despicable. Four years ago, he privately married the young daughter of a consul. The consul's anger originated from joining the army in Britain. The next year, a consul died, and Ding began to return to France. "

What I hear here means that I have only heard of it, not that Zhang Deyi has experienced it personally. It was 1865 four years ago. If this really happens, it means that Ding Xiucai joined the army in Britain for two years from 1865- 1866. According to my own textual research, this period happened to be the day when Ding Xiucai instructed Yu Dide to translate and publish a large number of China's poems, and there was no news report in this regard. Besides, in Paris, a society ruled by law, the consul has no right to deal with a citizen, and only the court has the right to make a decision on punishment.

3. "Later, the sewing worker's wife was abducted, and the sewing worker told the authorities and sentenced her to two years in prison." This should have happened at 1867- 1868. This period of time is a period when Ding Dunling's poetry works are constantly published and his reputation is gradually rising. Parisian newspapers called Ding Xiucai "a Gauthie China", and French people came to visit him constantly and asked him for advice. If he had been in prison for two years by this time, it would have been a big news topic at that time and the court would have left a record. According to my research, Ding Xiucai's imprisonment in this period does not exist in this society ruled by law.

4. "Now it's Ou Jian's recording studio. According to outsiders, I'm afraid it's a guest in the curtain." Zhang Deyi knew that Ou Jian was Yu Dide, who was 23 years old and was born in a noble family. He was a rising star in French poetry. When he saw Ding Xiucai, who was nearly 40 years old and broke, he turned out to be the secretary of a beautiful poet. At that time, he was only 22 years old and very jealous. As can be seen from the next sentence, this sanctimonious senior official of the Qing Dynasty is actually a hypocrite full of thieves and prostitutes. He is more suspected of deliberately planting what he heard.

5. "I heard that the newsprint was uploaded again. Ding claimed to be a juren. I wonder if it's a pilot test in a certain department? In the same year as who? "

Ding Xiucai has always been known as a scholar in Paris. Zhang Deyi met Ding Xiucai many times in Paris. He could ask Ding Xiucai if he was a juren, but mocked Ding Xiucai as a juren. This is also the insult of Ding Xiucai, a younger scholar who considers himself an outstanding scholar in the Qing Dynasty.

Juren took the exam every three years in the Qing Dynasty, and all the scholars who took the exam in the same year became the same year. When ordinary officials meet, if they are asked if they were the winners of that year, they will feel as cordial as their classmates. Whether Ding Xiucai won the prize or not needs further study. According to my analysis and judgment, he should have failed in the exam, and at most he took the exam of 1852.

6, Ding Xiucai bigamy case storm

Ding Xiucai got married and had children in Macau, and became a door-to-door son-in-law and wife. Later, Ding Xiucai left Macau by boat in February of 186 1 and arrived in Paris, France in August of that year in order to avoid the arrest of the Qing court and get a high salary (150 francs per month). Ten years later 1872, Ding Xiucai, aged 4 1, married a 35-year-old Parisian woman. Later, this woman sued her for bigamy, and Ding Xiucai spent 67 days in prison. Finally, according to the laws of the Qing Dynasty and the verdict of the jury, Ding Dunling was acquitted of bigamy and released in court. This incident caused a sensation in the world, and there were big articles in newspapers in Europe, the United States, Britain and China. It is said that China spent 65,438+0,450 francs on news photography for reporting press releases, which is converted into 65,438+0,500 taels of silver.

I cite this case, which can also prove that Ding Xiucai was sentenced to two years' imprisonment twice in Zhang Deyi Diary. If it does happen, it will be recorded in court and newspapers (that is, newspapers), and it will be recorded in court.

7. Achievements of Ding Xiucai and Yu Dide

Ding Xiucai officially became the Chinese teacher of Yu Dide's sisters at the beginning of 1873, and began to explain Chinese poetry culture and beautiful mountains and rivers to Yu Dide's sisters. Yu Dide 18 years old, obsessed with China culture to forget to eat and sleep. In less than a year, he began to translate China's ancient poems into French according to Ding Xiucai's explanation and his own understanding, which was easy to understand and accept, and soon succeeded. With the publication and reprint of her epoch-making work Bai Yu Shi Shu, her works were translated into European and American languages, and the French and Europeans began to understand the culture of China and China. Ding Dunling and his disciples eventually became pioneers of cultural exchanges between China, France and Europe. Go down in history forever

Ding Dunling is an ordinary scholar in Shanxi. In that special era, he made a special contribution to the spread of Chinese culture through hardships, and he was worthy of being a scholar of Shanxi University.
