He took a model photo for her. Unexpectedly, this little gesture caused an uproar and changed the fate of Huang Zongzhan. The next day, Huang Zongzhan was called by the head of the company. Minter expressed great gratitude and trust to him and asked him to be her first photographer (that is, photography director). Because Huang Zongzhan made her eyes "black", he had to do the same in the film, so that the color-blind film that only felt blue light at that time could no longer make Minter's light blue eyes look white and dull. Huang Zongzhan was both excited and anxious. He rushed to the photo scene overnight to check the situation, and finally came up with a "miracle" that he unintentionally created-five pieces of black velvet on the wall made Minter's eyes reflect black. So he made a wooden frame, stretched a piece of black velvet, dug five holes in the black velvet for the camera lens, and took all the close-ups of Minter with this design. Soon, a legend spread like wildfire in the production company: "Miss Minter hired a mysterious oriental photographer from abroad. This magical young man hid behind the goose down and made the heroine's eyes black and beautiful." In this way, the diligent and clever Huang Zongzhan's film photography career was guaranteed, and every actor with blue eyes scrambled to ask him to be his chief photographer. Drum of Destiny, Sorrow of Songling and Bottom made Huang Zongzhan famous. At the same time, Lasky changed its name to "Paramount".
