When was the wall of Xi built?

Xi 'an City Wall was built in 582 AD (the second year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty). After Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Jin, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it was expanded and rebuilt on the basis of Chang 'an Imperial City in Tang Dynasty. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), it was restored to its original appearance, and the new city gate was opened. The time span from Sui and Tang Dynasties to modern times has gone through five major constructions. Namely:

1, Sui and Tang Dynasties: In the second year (582), the construction of Daxing Palace started the construction of Daxing City. Under the auspices of Yu Wenkai, Miyagi and Imperial City were built in about 9 months. The existing section is close to triangle;

2. Late Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties: Han Jian abandoned the outer city and Miyagi of Chang 'an, and only kept the imperial city, named Zicheng, for renovation. Once the imperial city had three walls in the east, south and west, and a wide street in the north, which became the dividing line between the imperial city and Miyagi. Thicken the old city wall by 1.5 meters to more than 2.5 meters, and raise the top by nearly one meter;

3. Song and Yuan Dynasties: In the Yuan Dynasty, the scale and distribution pattern of Fengyuan Daocheng (formerly known as Anxi Fucheng) were basically similar to those of the previous generation, except that in the tenth year of Yuan Dynasty (1273), Anxi Palace was built in a high and flat place near the Shanghai River in the northeast of the city, with an area of about 0.3 square kilometers and a vertical rectangle. The supplementary layer is located in the center of the Ming city wall section, with dark brown soil color, dense texture and a small amount of bricks;

4. Ming and Qing Dynasties: The previously built city walls were all built inside, which is now the Xi 'an City Wall;

5. The modern restoration layer was mainly reinforced by the relevant departments of Xi 'an in the early 1980s.

Extended data:

The perimeter of Xi 'an City Wall is 13.74 km, including a series of ancient architectural facilities such as moat, suspension bridge, gatehouse, watchtower, watchtower, parapet and crib. As the largest and most well-preserved ancient city wall building in China, Xi 'an City Wall continues the historical context of the entire ancient capital Chang 'an and is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Since the founding of New China, the people's governments of Shaanxi Province and xi City have carried out large-scale renovation of Xi 'an City Wall, mended the gap between Chaoyangmen City Wall and Guangmen City Wall, and implemented the connection project of Xi 'an City Wall Railway Station, focusing on the comprehensive upgrading of the south gate AAAAA, so that this ancient building, which has experienced thousands of years of wind and rain, can regain its vitality and become a well-known tourist attraction with walls, forests, roads, rivers and lanes in one, and was promoted to the national level on 20 18.
