Longxing temple is located in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, next to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. According to historical records, protecting longxing temple was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty and flourished in the early Ming Dynasty. It is one of the eight Dojo for Zhu Yuanzhang to defend his country and worship the emperor in the Ming Dynasty. Covering an area of 100 mu, it is known as "the ancient temple in the north of the Yangtze River, the Buddha country in the water city". The famous Liaocheng Tower, located in longxing temple, is the landmark of the temple. It is said that there are three treasures in Dongchang: iron tower, drum tower and jade emperor cake. After the Qing dynasty, it was destroyed by the war, leaving only ruins.
Architectural pattern: Protecting longxing temple is a four-story courtyard in the north and south, with three rows of courtyards in the east and west. The overall structure is based on the traditional quadrangle and temple garden planning mode, combined with the traditional feng shui fortune, and according to the ancient architectural pattern of climbing step by step and the feng shui requirements of mountains and rivers, dozens of buildings need to be built. All buildings have cornices, four beams and eight columns, which are carefully carved, supplemented by many auspicious patterns such as traditional colored paintings, dragons and lions, Shoushan Fuhai and so on, showing the solemn and magnificent momentum of traditional ancient buildings in Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the same time, I tried to create unique Buddhist sculpture techniques, and all Buddha statues were carved according to traditional techniques.
