When I watched the flash girl, it reminded me of a Japanese movie, the swing girl, who was also a teenage girl, and also had a musical dream by mistake. Apart from the addition of the second element of the film, the two works are particularly similar, but unlike the latter, both the conclusion of musical dreams and the brewing of emotions in Swing Girl make people accept music and dreams.

First of all, Flash Girl gives me the most intuitive feeling, whether it is folk music or secondary music. These things are more like labels that directors put on actors. All kinds of deliberately created plots are unfolded, and symbols of folk music and secondary music are piled up, just constantly satisfying the curiosity of the audience. Moreover, the film itself does not understand what is real secondary music and what is folk music. Two-dimensional music is not a fairy who makes an actor dress like a little devil all day.

In this symbolic pile-up, there seems to be a serious problem in the film, that is, it is almost impossible to establish a real flesh-and-blood character, and all the characters have become props for the film to show contradictory tension. What contradiction is this? Just a deliberate opposition between folk music and western music. In this opposition, what the film does is to belittle western music again and again, and at the same time, to establish a high esteem for folk music, and also to let the opposition between China and the West make folk music shine. But what are the similarities and differences between this practice and those students who discriminate against western music?

A good youth story does not need the superposition of one stunt after another. In fact, the youth obsessed with folk music and the youth who love the second element can all show a burning passion about dreams, but the film can't capture this light that really comes from youth, just let people see a little flash floating on the surface.
