These 10 low-level photography errors ... photographers pay attention! !

Sometimes people can't help being careless, and then regret some results because of carelessness, which is really a pity. In order to reduce this situation, we try to find out what we should pay attention to or avoid in 10 photography, so as not to make ourselves regret it!

1。 Ignore instruction

I really tried to answer long-distance calls in the middle of the night. It turns out that my old friend traveled to the United States, and on the way, I don't remember how to use some functions of the newly bought camera, and I didn't bring the instructions. As a result, I was at a loss and called me in a hurry in the middle of the night ... The telephone bill was too expensive!

Instructions are all decorations? Or it doesn't matter whether you read the instructions before using some electronic products, but for digital cameras, the system is becoming more and more complicated and various new functions are emerging one after another. If you don't recognize the use of every function, the camera can't fully play its role when it is really needed. Wouldn't it be a waste? Therefore, it is best to look at the functions of the new machine first, so that the camera can play to the extreme, and then with personal technology, the success rate of satisfactory works can be greatly increased!

2。 Indiscriminately use key metering

Sometimes I heard the photographer say that it would be more correct to use focus metering, because focus metering only measures a small range in the middle of the picture, and focus metering is carried out according to the position extracted by the photographer. However, key photometry is a very professional photometry method. If the photographer fails to master the characteristics of this metering mode, it is possible to shoot serious overexposure or underexposure. In fact, generally speaking, it is enough to use the matrix of the camera to measure light. It will divide the picture into several areas with different sizes and shapes. The camera's metering system will measure light for each area independently, and then evaluate the exposure required for the whole image.

3。 Delete photos from the camera

After shooting, we always look at the photos, which is normal, because once we find any shortcomings in the photos, we can take them again immediately, which is one of the advantages of digital cameras over film cameras. But if people are not satisfied with the photo, will they delete it immediately? In fact, the resolution of the camera's LCD screen is limited, and the photos seen on the computer screen will have a better display effect. If we delete the photos at the scene and then want to retrieve the deleted photos, although we can try to repair the memory card, this method may not work. Once we can't retrieve the deleted photos from the camera, it's too late to regret.

4。 Automatic mode only

Automation does bring us a lot of convenience, so many photographers also like to shoot in automatic mode, so we don't have to worry about the setting of aperture and shutter. However, the automatic mode of many cameras cannot even adjust the exposure compensation. How can we solve the possible deviation of camera automatic metering?

If we only regard the camera as a recording tool, it is unnecessary to rely on automatic technology, but if we want to enjoy more photography, such as controlling the depth of field of photos or taking photos with different shutter speeds, we must learn to use the camera, such as A (aperture priority), S (shutter priority) mode, and even full manual M mode. Photography enthusiasts who are still only using automatic mode may wish to break through the shackles and enjoy more photography fun!

5。 Memory card with arbitrary format

Shoot with a film camera, and the exposed image data are stored on the negative, unless the negative is lost, the image should be properly preserved; The storage of digital images on the camera depends on a small memory card. If we are careless and fail to ensure that the image data in the card has been backed up, and then format the memory card, our hard work will be wasted at any time! Although there may be a chance to get back the image by repairing the memory card, it is more effective to ensure that the image file has been backed up before formatting than any post-repair method!

6。 I didn't bring enough memory cards.

Sometimes it is easy to overestimate the "throughput" of the memory card, or we don't know the size of the image file, so that we don't fully evaluate the required memory card capacity. As a result, when the memory card is full, but the shooting work has not been completed, I can only blame myself for being careless. So, before shooting, we'd better determine what format files should be stored. For example, the capacity of RAW will be larger than that of JPEG, and the JPEG (fine) with lower compression will be larger than that of JPEG (basic), and then consider the amount of shooting required, and then impulsively need how much memory card capacity.

7。 There is no spare battery

Generally speaking, a battery is enough, and when we need to shoot for a long time, it is always safer to have a spare battery, during which we may not have a chance to charge the battery. For example, when traveling abroad, there are always many beautiful scenery in a whole day's trip. It would be a pity if the shooting opportunity was wasted because the battery was exhausted. In order to enjoy shooting for a long time, you might as well bring an extra battery!

8。 Didn't shoot with RAW

If you wholeheartedly think that it is enough to use the lowest compression JPEG (fine) instead of RAW shooting, then you must think again! In fact, RAW, the file of original shooting data, has irreplaceable advantages. Whether for general shooting purposes or knowing that it will not do a lot of post-processing work on photos, it consciously shoots with JPEG (fine), which has the lowest impact on photo quality in theory. But when you want to edit some photos, such as correcting the white balance, you will regret why you didn't shoot with RAW, and you can change the white balance at will in post-processing.

9。 Equipment prerequisite

If a worker wants to do a good job, he must sharpen his tools first, so it is natural that many photographers have very high requirements for equipment. But is the quality of equipment closely related to the quality of photos? I heard many friends around me often say that it is more important to think about composition than to buy equipment. I believe everyone will not object to this truth. It is absolutely necessary to upgrade the equipment, because the emergence of new technology can improve some problems of old equipment, but we should always remind ourselves not to rely too much on equipment shooting, and don't think that the more money we spend on high-end equipment, the better our work depends on our keen sense of touch and composition skills.

10。 Lend your camera to others casually, and you will meet someone at any time.

Of course, we are not encouraging everyone to do some selfish behavior! However, if you lend your camera to others at will, sometimes you don't notice that some settings have been changed, which affects the quality of your photos. Fortunately, some cameras offer the choice of "User Settings" mode, so users can store the required shooting settings, which gives them extra protection. You should know that even the setting of "User Settings" mode can be changed, so you'd better think it over before borrowing the camera, or clearly tell the other party what to pay attention to!
