Make sure the shooting location is upwind.

The most important thing to pay attention to when shooting a burning object is the shooting location. Because of the smoke, it is necessary to pay attention to the wind direction in advance. Whether it is safe or shooting, standing in the windward is the best choice.

Take manual focusing.

When shooting torches or fireworks, it is difficult for autofocus to keep up with the changing speed of light and shadow. Therefore, it is recommended to use manual focusing and rotate the focus ring of the lens. If shooting fireworks at high altitude, set the focus at the farthest point. If the lens does not have a focus scale, you can use autofocus first, focus to a far place, and then adjust it to manual focus.

Low sensitivity and high image quality

In the dark, in order to get a clear and sharp image, it is recommended to use a small aperture, which can be adjusted to f/8 or f/6. Similarly, due to the different weather, environment, distance and types of fireworks, if it is found that the light and shadow being shot are not obvious or the fireworks lines are too thin and unsmooth, the aperture can be increased.

Hold down the shutter time

The exposure time (shutter speed) for shooting fireworks is usually at least one second, and it is better to set it to 1-3 seconds. Note that the shutter time should not be too long, which is easy to overexpose and form a white picture. In addition, if the camera has the function of setting long exposure to reduce noise, please turn off this function. If this function is not turned off, it will take the camera 10 seconds to process this photo, and too many beautiful scenery will be missed.

Light-by-light equipment

Tripod: Long shooting time or physical problems will cause camera shake, so don't worry if you have a tripod.

Cable release or remote control: avoid blurring caused by shaking of the fuselage, especially when you have to control the shutter time freely.

Black card: Because we can't fully grasp the time of fireworks shooting, we need the cooperation of black cards. When the fireworks don't explode, open the shutter (B shutter /T shutter) and cover the lens with a black card, so that the light can't enter the camera, just like closing the shutter, but when the fireworks explode, we immediately take the black card away for exposure.
