The fourth is the calculation of EV value. In fact, everyone is familiar with the concept of EV value. Simply put, it is a brightness value. The greater the EV value, the higher the brightness, the smaller the EV value, and the lower the brightness. The difference between EV values is 1, indicating that the exposure is one step worse.

The middle screen is a liquid crystal display, from which you can see all the readings. It should be noted that its aperture value often reads some decimals, such as 4.9. At this time, you must not understand that 4.9 is about 5. Because the previous aperture level of 4 was 5.6, the aperture of 4.9 in the exposure instrument at this time, if displayed on the aperture of your camera, should be about 5.3. And so on.

There is an ISO adjustment button below. Press it to adjust the ISO value, and at the same time use the number size selection key on the right to adjust the number size.

There is a place to hang strings at the lower left. There is a thin black rope in the box of the exposure meter, which can be tied here and hung around the neck. The exposure meter is equipped with a leather case, which can be hung on the waist (with waist hanging device), and it is very convenient to carry and use.

When selecting, the confirmation key on the right is used for confirmation. In normal light, you can measure light by pressing it once, and you need to press it when the connection flashes. However, when you flash off the line, you don't need to press it.

The size selection key at the lower right is mainly used when setting ISO and adjusting the shutter size (from exposure meter, we can intuitively see the "reciprocity rate" of adjusting the shutter and aperture).

There is a milky hemisphere on it, which is used to measure light. Under it, there is a photosensitive element. After the light passes through the milky hemisphere and hits the light-emitting element, a set of measured numbers will appear on the display screen. At this time, it is used to measure the incident light. The way to measure the incident light is to measure the milky white ball against the camera lens.

This ivory ball can be pulled down to the right along the track, and the photosensitive element will be exposed directly after being pulled down. At this time, it is used to measure the reflected light. At this time, the milky white ball should measure the surface of the subject for reflection photometry. Some of its measurement methods and requirements are not detailed because they are basic concepts. No matter incident photometry or reflection photometry, the same photosensitive element is used, but there is a difference between opalescent hemisphere blocking light or not. Once I heard the teacher say that you should be careful when using the exposure meter, and don't burn it. Although the watch has not been burned, I think it may refer to the careful use of reflective exposure meter to measure strong light, such as reflective metering (direct exposure of photosensitive elements), directly facing the sun or strong light flash. Whether you burn the watch or not, I hope you don't use it like this, at least it will greatly shorten the life of the exposure instrument.

The attachment comes with a photographic accessory similar to a hemisphere, but it is called a "white flat plate". It is a very small cylindrical thing, and the circle on the top of the cylinder is also white. When the hemisphere is pulled to the lower right, it can be installed in the original hemisphere position. I asked Mr. He Jia, and he said it was used for photometry under complicated conditions. Think about it, too. It used to be spherical, but now it has become one-sided. The accuracy of photometry must be much higher. Accuracy here does not mean accurate exposure, but that the light ratio between light is more accurate and is not affected by other stray light. According to the information on the Internet, if a white plate is used to measure light, it is mainly used for larger plane measurement, such as the measurement of a wall (like a three-dimensional face, you can't feel the multi-angle light source). At the same time, I read that if you use the whiteboard to measure light, you need to lower the exposure value by about half a notch. It makes sense to think about this statement. The light in the hemisphere is much larger than that in the flat panel, but the photosensitive element doesn't know that you have changed the whiteboard now. It only knows that if you have less light now, it will naturally improve the exposure value, and the exposure meter value is generally set according to the measurement of a hemisphere. Therefore, it is meaningful to reduce exposure value after whiteboard measurement.
