Reflections on personality psychology
Review of Personality Psychology 1 "Self-disclosure" is an important concept in the humanistic school of psychology, which refers to actively telling one's own information to others.
Sidney Jourard (1971), a humanistic psychologist, believes that there is a two-way causal relationship between self-disclosure and subjective well-being. A person can freely disclose his information to others, because his mental health and the improvement of his mental health level also benefit from self-disclosure to others.
In Jules' words, the key to becoming a mentally healthy person is to become more transparent.
The rise of blog makes self-disclosure take on a brand-new form. Blog is different from diary. Diary is only written for yourself, and there is no interaction, and this kind of communication and feedback between people is an important factor of self-disclosure.
In addition, interpersonal communication in blogs transcends the concept of one-to-one in traditional humanism and forms a more effective one-to-many communication network. Another important factor of self-disclosure is the privacy of the disclosed information. Generally speaking, the more secret the information disclosed, the better the disclosure effect.
Why does self-disclosure promote mental health? Jurad believes that only through self-disclosure can people gradually realize themselves. We can't see ourselves openly and transparently until we are open and transparent to everyone. If we don't pay attention to all aspects of ourselves, we can't make progress and realize ourselves. Bloggers who like to blog have a high tendency of self-disclosure, so according to Jules, they are also mentally healthy people. But if we compare Xu Blog, Blog Zheng and keso, it seems that the mental health level of the top two is higher, hehe, just kidding.
After reading 2 micro-personality psychology, personality psychology is based on traditional personality psychology, behavioral psychology and other disciplines. After years of research, the author of this book has accumulated a large number of micro-personality psychology theories and cases, and combined with some well-known psychological research institutions to conduct experiments, investigations, collection and analysis, and described them in a humorous, cold and sharp language style, striving to be more vivid and interesting on the basis of respecting science. The creation of this book aims to guide readers who love psychology, see through the unknown motives behind people's behavior, interpret people's hidden subtle personality and scientifically analyze many aspects of personality; While seeing through others, we should explore and discover another self in our body, learn to subconsciously control and use these "micro-personalities" and explore our hidden energy.
When I read A Brief History of Mankind before, I analyzed the essence of human selfishness from the perspectives of biology and sociology. To exaggerate, the reason why human beings can live for thousands of years is directly related to their selfish nature. Many biologists believe that human beings have selfish genes, control all kinds of human behaviors, preserve themselves, and strive to maintain the continuation of their lives (genes), even at the expense of a sea of knives and mountains.
Then this book "Micro-Personality Psychology" analyzes people's psychological activities and external behaviors from the perspective of micro-personality, which provides a reliable basis for readers to discover micro-personality in the body and see through the other side of human nature. Every abnormal psychological activity and abnormal behavior is the projection of inner desire and the external embodiment of micro-personality psychology.
I always take the phrase "mental patients think widely, mentally retarded children are more fun" to ridicule people with weird personality and behavior. Real psychopaths or people with abnormal behaviors will hide far away, stare at them with disdain and disgust, and swear in their mouths: It's fucking bad luck, how can they encounter such mental illness? When I met them, I thought I was unfortunate, but my disgust at their pain and suffering was negligible. The real weak are not normal people, but patients. I will try to accept them and help them in the future. If I am like that, I hope to get help, too.
From many cases of mental illness in this paper, it is found that most patients with mental disorders have this unhappy childhood, or their parents are divorced, or their parents are unscientific in discipline, or they are beaten and scolded, or they are insulted and discriminated against, which eventually leads to children's psychological distortion, one-sided understanding of the world, extreme fear and self-protection. There are many examples in life now. The children suffered everything that shouldn't have happened to them. Happy childhood seems to only appear in fairy tales. I have always held the view that you have the right to have children because you can't have children physically. If you can't love him all your life, please don't be honest for those dozens of seconds; "I'm your mom and dad, how could I harm you?" "I'm all for your own good." "I've been disobedient before, but I just don't want you to suffer." "disobedience is unfilial." Sentence after sentence deprives children of their freedom, denies their thoughts again and again, and lives according to your design day after day. If so, please don't.
Poor dad said, study hard and find a good job after graduation. That's how I got here. I also have my ideals and hobbies, but I look for a job to make money. Maybe this is my life, but I'm still trying to make better choices for my children. I can paint if I want, learn photography if I want, and give him a free stage, that's all.
It says it's beside the point. I can keep coming back. In order to reduce the number of mental patients, the first teacher (parent) of children (people) is very important. Human growth can be divided into physical growth, increased experience and psychological maturity of embryos. As long as the three are not balanced, it will inevitably lead to various psychological problems and some deviant behaviors, so parents should pay attention.
Sometimes, I will find that I don't know and I am angry for no reason. There seems to be a hand controlling my words and deeds. At best, I will yell at my dog. Is the shadow manipulating me? I have read this book for a week, and I will think while reading it. When I encounter similar problems, I will explore another self in my body and try to learn subconscious control and use my potential self.
This book has no taste until now. Discover your own "micro-personality", control and use it; See through the motives behind people's behavior, interpret the "micro-personality" hidden behind people, and control and use it.
This book is recommended to read four and a half stars, and psychology lovers should like it very much. It is said that this book is still very humorous.
As a school teacher, I often meet all kinds of students, either lively and outgoing or calm and introverted.
As the saying goes, "one meter breeds a hundred kinds of people". Although the students are invincible in youth, most of them are healthy and positive, but there are also some problem students affected by various factors. Students are unique and unrepeatable. How to teach students in accordance with their aptitude often bothers me. Although students can't be "worms in the stomach", it is necessary to know them and prescribe the right medicine.
However, I often feel that I don't have enough knowledge in college. Pedagogy and psychology in those years were average. These two disciplines have many branches. Therefore, in order to "help understand students", I read Personality Psychology published by Jinan University Press and edited by Zheng Xue.
This book is one of the series of textbooks for the main courses of psychology, so it is inevitable to follow the routine of psychology textbooks. Firstly, the concept and history of personality and personality psychology are introduced, and then the relationship among original desire, culture, characteristics, learning, humanism and cognition is discussed. In fact, it introduces various schools and theoretical studies of personality psychology. From the emergence of theory, social background, to case analysis. In it, I found some theories about the origin of personality and their support. What I read most is the chapter "Learning and Personality". How to make students love learning is a concern of all teachers. One of them is the view of Dollard and Miller: "Learning is inseparable from four elements: internal drive, clue, reaction and reinforcement. Learning can only happen when a person wants something (internal drive), pays attention to something (clue), does something (reaction) and obtains something (reinforcement). " This reminds me of my own students, who are in one-to-one correspondence. What are their four elements? What is missing? There are three practical chapters at the end of the book: personality measurement and behavior observation, personality disorder and its correction, and personality education.
The content is very professional and instructive, but it feels too general. When I close this book, I sincerely feel that the knowledge of psychology is really vast. A book is just an outline, with too many details to extend and more examples to prove it. "Personality education" alone needs further understanding. It must be said that the strategic orientation of "personality psychology" gives people a refuge in sexual behavior, and also allows us to be teachers and dialectically educate students.
With more personal confusion about reality and the need of work, I participated in the learning activities of this training class. Through the study of Introduction to Personality Psychology, I feel that my mind has grown, and my theoretical knowledge of personality psychology has also increased and deepened. Let me talk about my learning gains and feelings. The application of personality psychology, the textbook at the beginning of learning, is to apply the knowledge of personality psychology to real life, help people and make people's lives happier, healthier and more creative. "This sentence left a deep impression on me. How well it was said, I am one of the people who need help in real life. Through the professor's explanation, combined with systematic reading and learning, I have a preliminary understanding of the theory of personality psychology, and have some thoughts in combination with real life. Through study, I know: the theory of personality traits focuses on the superficial description and comparison of personality; The theory of personality biology seeks the explanation of personality from the body; The theory of personality psychoanalysis is to explore the deepest human nature and pay attention to the inner subconscious; On the other hand, the theory of personality behaviorism abandons idealism, emphasizes the decisive influence of explicit behavior and environment on personality formation, and attaches importance to the role of external reinforcement; The psychological theory of personality humanism pays attention to the different forces of people's subjective free will, studies people's nature, value, potential and creativity, and studies personality at the human level; The theory of personality cognition mainly focuses on internal cognitive ability and its relationship with motivation and emotion, attaches importance to individual social situation and their own physiological characteristics, and analyzes personality from the perspective of the interaction between cognitive-emotional process and external situation.
Each theory has its specific historical significance and enlightenment to later generations. Personally, I value the psychological theory of personality humanism more.
Humanistic theory provides another way to look at human nature, although it, like other personality theories, has both contributions and criticisms.
First, the basic meaning of humanistic theory
Humanistic theory is one of the main schools of contemporary psychology in the United States, which was founded by American psychologist A.H. Maslow, and now the representative figure is C.R. Rogers. Humanism opposes the tendency to vulgarize and animalize human psychology, so it is called "three forces" in psychology. Humanism emphasizes the cultivation of psychological qualities and personality characteristics such as love, creation, self-expression, autonomy and responsibility, which has a far-reaching impact on modern education. As the founder of humanistic psychology, Maslow fully affirmed human dignity and value and actively advocated the realization of human potential. Maslow believes that human beings have inherent natures such as truth, goodness, beauty, justice and joy, and have the same values and moral standards. The key to realize human self-realization lies in improving people's "self-awareness" or self-awareness, so that people can realize their inner potential or value, and humanistic psychology is to promote people's self-realization. Rogers, another important representative, also emphasized human self-expression, emotion and subjective acceptance. He believes that the goal of education is to cultivate a sound personality and must create a positive growth environment.
Second, some inspirations about humanistic theory
1, beacon of life
First of all, in my life, I have been thinking about personality and humanity, confusing the differences between people. Why there are great differences between men and women in personality and human nature, that is, there are also great differences between the same sex about human nature.
The same thing happened, why some people can accept it, while others find it incredible? Humanism assumes that human nature is good. Although many people find it hard to accept this view, I think human nature needs kindness and love. I have always believed that no matter how evil a person is, there is still a kind and gentle side. Love and kindness are eternal, and what is needed is ways and means to tap them.
Humanism emphasizes love, which is very powerful and more powerful and effective than that kind of ignorant criticism. Love is concrete care and help for individual life, a kind of overall care and an emphasis on respect for individual life. In terms of personality thinking, I think humanistic love and kindness are very important. Although personality and human nature are different, they have the same demand for love and kindness. In other words, humanism is simply "people-oriented".
Today, with the rapid development of information society, contemporary China society is facing many problems that need to be solved urgently, including moral reconstruction, system reform and improving the living conditions of social vulnerable groups.
Faced with these problems, we need to introduce the power of faith with love, sincerity, tolerance and sympathy. The works of Rogers and Maslow are also very popular among people who are trying to meet high-level needs. And our great concern about creativity, happiness and physical and mental health is also the reason and need for us to pay attention to the healthy personality of humanistic theory. Looking back on the history of thought for nearly a hundred years, we notice a very special figure in the spiritual history-Lu Xun.
Lu Xun said that it is not enough to regard science and technology as civilization, wealth as civilization and parliamentary democracy as civilization. It's all about cultivating people. Lu Xun believes that everything is not enough without the salvation or transcendence of the individual's inner soul. From this perspective, can it be said that economic development, political and legal construction and spiritual reconstruction are the three fundamental issues of China's modernization? The so-called reconstruction of the soul is to provide an explanation of the meaning of life and the reconstruction of morality and ethics on this basis. And this is a problem that is often overlooked. Many times, I feel that the basic trust between people in today's society is very difficult, and I am confused in the face of many social phenomena around me, such as I can't understand the deception and lies between friends and I can't accept a person's multiple masks, so I feel that the growth of my mind is imminent.
Therefore, as a normal social person, we should first cultivate our psychological qualities and good personality such as love, sincerity, creativity, self-expression, autonomy and responsibility, believe in love, be a good person, and show our true self a beautiful life state.
2. Educational and teaching tools.
As educators, in the process of imparting knowledge, we should infect students with beautiful things of human nature, pay attention to the cultivation of people, and focus on "educating people." Rogers "advocates that psychology should study human value and dignity, and counseling and psychotherapy should help to restore and improve human value and dignity".
Rogers' theoretical foundation is man, which leads to some important concepts such as self, phenomenon field, organism wisdom, organism evaluation process and realization tendency. Rogers believes that human nature is determined by the so-called realization tendency and can be trusted. This realization tendency is "the tendency to fulfill, realize, maintain and enhance the organism". The organism itself has wisdom, that is, the so-called organic wisdom, which can be expressed through the evaluation process of the organism, so as to judge the value of self and experience in the development of human activities, improve self and maintain the coordination between self and experience, and ensure the development of human nature in the direction of giving full play to its functions. Love is especially needed in teachers' work. Loving all students, respecting all students and respecting students are the basis of students' continuing education. Every student has his own characteristics as well as his own.
First of all, students with poor learning ability are sensitive to certain topics and behaviors, or have become desensitized or even numb to these topics and behaviors. Teachers like to train better students, but good teachers are always good at controlling and treating them equally as far as possible without stimulating their self-esteem. Only by treating underachievers like other students can they develop like other students. Therefore, excellent teachers are good at understanding them, respecting them, believing that they "have the potential to understand themselves, become mature and make constructive changes", and strive to stimulate their potential.
Secondly, these students have a strong rebellious attitude. Underachievers are often criticized and accused because of their achievements, behaviors, thoughts and other reasons, and they have a strong rebellious mentality and great resistance to hard changes such as criticism, accusation and preaching. Therefore, for them, the method of "blocking" is not feasible and can only be guided. Humanistic teaching thought not only pays attention to the development of cognition in teaching, but also pays attention to the development law of students' emotion, interest and motivation in teaching. "It pays attention to the understanding of students' inner psychological world, in order to meet students' interests, needs, experiences and personality differences, to develop students' potential, to stimulate the interaction between students' cognition and emotions, and to attach importance to the restrictive effect of psychological aspects such as creativity, cognition, motivation and emotions on behavior.
In learning, I think it is very important for students to understand the meaning of learning and believe in themselves. If students have the need for active learning, then their inner potential can be stimulated, so that teachers can achieve better guidance. I often tell my students that your study is your own business, and whether you can learn anything can only be dominated by yourself, because teachers can only help and assist you and help you open the door to learning in everyone's heart. In teaching, I pay more attention to the cultivation of students' non-intelligence factors, talk with students, pay attention to all students, treat them equally, and pay attention to teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, so the teaching effect is good and students can get a good all-round development.
The above is just my superficial learning experience. I believe I will have a deeper understanding in my future life, work and study. Learning, living, thinking, growing and learning again is a cyclical process. A philosopher once said, "I think, therefore I am". I am willing to fly in the sea of knowledge forever, continue to explore and think, and get a happier, healthier and more creative life.
