In March 2004, Qingjian County was named the "Hometown of Chinese Taoism" by the Ministry of Culture. In 2008, Qingjian Taoism was included in the national intangible cultural heritage. The Taoist romance dramas "Animal Race" and "Meeting the Mother-in-Law" won many provincial and municipal awards.
