Where is Urumqi People’s Park located?

Urumqi People’s Park is a national AAA tourist attraction.

People's Park is located on the west side of the Urumqi River. It is a comprehensive cultural, entertainment and leisure park. It is the largest and oldest park in the center of Urumqi.

The construction of the park began in the ninth year of Guangxu (1883). In 1918, Yang Zengxin, who took charge of Xinjiang, expanded it, dredged the bottom of the lake, renovated the lakeshore, and built the Danfeng Chaoyang Pavilion in the style of the ancient Central Plains palaces. Later, It also built the Dragon King Temple, Zuixia Pavilion, Xiaochun Pavilion, Jianhu Pavilion, and the "Yuewei Thatched Cottage" built in memory of Ji Xiaolan, a great scholar in the Qing Dynasty. Now the garden has towering trees, flowers and plants everywhere, and winding paths leading to secluded areas. The garden within the garden includes the bizarre "Crystal Palace", sculptures beside the pavilions and in front of the courtyard, as well as attractions and facilities such as a children's amusement park and a roller skating rink. From spring to autumn, there are flower exhibitions, bonsai exhibitions, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and photography exhibitions. In the middle of winter, Sanjiu often holds ice sculpture events and carries out skating sports.
