What is the current situation of Chernobyl?

Today, such a high radiation level no longer exists in Chernobyl. The wreckage of the reactor was buried in a huge reinforced concrete sarcophagus (саркоаг). The radiation floating in the air has penetrated deeply into the land, into the branches of fruit trees and into the bodies of cows.

From Kiev to the north, we gradually approached the Chernobyl no man's land (dead zone). The residents there left in a hurry as early as twenty years ago, and the inaccessible road was covered with wormwood and the dust of the years. Long-term abandoned areas develop according to natural laws, resulting in unusual ecological environment. Nature shows her amazing beauty here, lush forests and quiet and indifferent lakes. Occasionally, wild boar or other wild animals will cross the road triumphantly, and they will not avoid people. For many years, this uninhabited land has become their absolute territory. Compared with the threat of human beings, they don't care how nuclear radiation will change their genes, so if there are any beneficiaries after Chernobyl, it should be them. After the accident, the quarantine area became a paradise for some wild animals. Animals in isolated areas, such as mice, have adapted to radiation and their life span is similar to that of mice in areas not affected by radiation. The following are the official statistics of animals that reappear or are introduced into the quarantine area: bobcats, owls, egrets, swans, 1 bears, European bison, Mongolian wild horses, badgers, beavers, wild boar, deer, elk, foxes, rabbits, otters, raccoons, wolves, waterfowl, gray-blue tits, black grouse and black pheasants.
