Routine work of Pathology Department needs to be carried out in the following separate rooms, and should be set up in different districts.

(1) Biopsy and cytological examination

1. Contaminated areas (biological factors and chemical pollution)

(1) Mailroom (acceptance and registration of samples, etc.);

(2) macro-examination and sampling room;

(3) specimen room;

(4) frozen section room;

(5) Cytological puncture sampling room.

2. Relatively clean area (polluted by chemicals)

(1) Conventional film preparation room (dehydrated, transparent, waxed and embedded);

(3) special staining and immunohistochemistry room (depending on work needs and technical conditions);

(4) related technical room (depending on work needs and technical conditions);

3. Clean area

(1) Histopathological diagnosis room;

(2) cytopathology diagnosis room;

(3) pathological reading and/or consultation room;

(4) information reference room;

(5) the studio;

4. Relative danger zone

(1) storage room for inflammable and explosive articles;

(2) toxic reagent storage room.
