Comments: Exploring Kunqu Opera, a dream in Jiangnan. Through skilled post-processing, the author creates a visual effect like ink painting. Elements such as small bridges, flowing water, boats and coastal houses in ancient towns are slowly telling the powerful charm of Jiangnan. Looking back at the side faces of Kunqu opera actors, the faint light shines on their faces, which seems to have a thousand words, which makes people memorable. Generally speaking, this kind of work not only has intuitive visual beauty, but also resonates and associates with the viewer's point of view, so it is called a masterpiece. —— Cai Long (Chairman of Kunshan Photographers Association)

Colorful character modeling, scene layout with strong sense of picture, wonderful and abnormal performance moments, etc. It is an important reason to attract many photographers to pay attention to cultural folklore, especially stage performances. However, the most eye-catching content is often the easiest to close the "eye of photography". In some exhibitions, we can see photographers trying to change their own angles and modes to record the real ecology of different cultures and folk customs. There are many touching good movies, but it is inevitable to see some superficial models shooting.

Photography is natural and sincere. We are disgusted with "sugar water tablets" and pseudo-folk images, because most of them follow the trend and pursue the same aesthetic paradigm, which runs counter to the "truth" pursued by art, whether it is the "truth" of the subject or the inner "truth" shown by the photographer through his own image style. Although the stylized content is steady and steady, and occasionally there are bright spots, it will be even more "amazing" if we continue to explore and try in form and find new visual expressions.

Compared with the novel and unique visual image, some photos look ordinary, but they touch people's hearts by showing details, such as the actor's awe and sincerity for the cause, the stage and the subtle spiritual connection with the audience. If you observe patiently and carefully and feel with your heart, I believe you can find more rich and touching pictures and shooting points. Photographer Ruan once photographed the "most beautiful hand" in Taiwan Province Province-the hand of a pingju actor in Taiwan Province Province. In Ruan's lens, all kinds of fingering in the play are displayed one by one, and the works are intellectual and aesthetic. Such a rich visual experience can be derived from a small breakthrough point, which tests the photographer's insight and empathy for people's hearts. Calm down, spend more time, pay attention to the subjects in front of the camera and ask yourself: what do you see and feel in them? What are their personalities and emotions? What details can explain their love for the industry and impress you? When you find it, you will shoot these details wholeheartedly.

"The wind is invisible when the flowers bloom, but you can feel the wind through the flowers." Photographer Wang Aegis once said this. In his work Wandering in China, what attracts us most is not the management of pictures, but the lives with unknown surnames. In these lives, emotions and still water can be clearly distinguished through the expressions and actions of characters. People's hearts and emotions are also invisible, but by expressing people's actions and expressions, we can still feel the same. For photographers, the ability to feel and convey people's hearts is scarce.

Whether it is stage performance or daily folk activities, we should record culture with the heart of "seeking truth" and record the beauty of culture on the premise of knowing, studying, truly understanding and appreciating culture. We should expect more pictures of China's profound culture with a long history. (Text/Peng)
