With the increasing dependence of photographers on the later period in recent years, Adobe continues to expand the functions of ACR. At present, the latest version of ACR has quite complete functions, which can complete all the preprocessing work of a photo. It is almost the same as Lightroom, another professional digital photography post-color software of Adobe. When ACR meets, it is Lightroom.

This issue focuses on three function panels of the camera's Raw palette: lens correction, effect and calibration.

Lens correction

In the ACR adjustment panel, there is a function called "lens correction". This tool can eliminate color difference and purple edge; Removing dark corners; Correct the geometric distortion of photos.

When taking a photo, the curvature of the middle part of the lens is very smooth, but the curvature of the edge part changes in leaps and bounds, so that the refractive index and convergence point of light will change slightly, which will cause geometric distortion at the edge of the photo taken. Even if lens manufacturers use aspherical lenses to correct this problem, the effect it can achieve is not ideal at 65,438+000%, so there will be some distortion at the edge when taking pictures.

Open a file in Raw format with PS, and the system will automatically load ACR.

Two obvious problems can be seen from the photos. First, there is a certain gap between the light and shade around and in the middle of the photo, especially in the upper left corner, lower left corner and lower right corner, there are not only geometric distortions, but also dark corners.

Open the Lens Correction panel, select the "Enable contour correction" check box, and pay attention to the observation screen. You can see that the surrounding dark corners become bright and the geometric distortions around them are corrected.

If you feel that the correction is excessive, you can also drag the "vignetting" slider in the "Correction Amount" option group at the bottom to ensure the correction is reasonable.

Similarly, for the correction of geometric distortion around photos, you can also drag the "Distortion" parameter slider to restore the adjustment of distortion.

If you enlarge the photo, you can see that there are obvious color edges around the distant subject. Generally speaking, in the backlit shooting scene in Gao Fancha, the edge of the combination of light and shade will have a colored edge, usually purple or green. To eliminate this color edge, simply select the Delete Color Difference check box.

After selecting the "Delete chromatic aberration" check box, it is possible that 100% of the color edges are not eliminated. If you want to completely eliminate this color edge, you can switch to the Manual tab and observe the color of the color edge.

At this time, some color edges are yellow and green, so select "Green Tone" in the "Edge Removal" option to include the color of color edges in the green phase area, which means that the color edges in this area will be eliminated. Then increase the "green value", so that the colored edges in the picture can be eliminated.

The problem of lens deformation should be adjusted separately from the main deformation of the photo. The main deformation is usually caused by the angle of the photo, such as the inclination of the horizontal and vertical lines of the building, which can be adjusted by using the "Deformation Tool" in the tool panel.

Effect panel

After photo processing, if you want to appropriately darken the scene in the four corners and highlight the scene in the middle of the picture, you can use the "vignetting after cropping" function to optimize it.

By appropriately reducing the value of Quantity in "After Cropping", you can add a dark corner around the photo, which will darken the surroundings without affecting the middle.

It should be noted that there are also parameters such as roundness, feathering and highlight in the "vignetting after cropping" option group.

Midpoint: refers to the position where the established dark corner begins. Some dark corners can spread around from the middle part, or they can be set near the edge part to start.

Roundness: you can adjust whether the radian of the dark corner is round or close to square.

Feathering: used to set the smooth state of dark angle transition from generation to darkest.

Highlight: Its main function is to make the added dark corners more natural.

Calibration panel

Under the ACR Calibration panel, there are several sets of color matching parameters. If you have read the contents of the previous issues of this series of tutorials, you can understand the influence of this adjustment on the photos from the names of these parameters.

For example, in the Shadow option group, drag the Tone slider to the left, that is, reduce the magenta color of the dark part and increase the tone of green, then the dark part will become more deserted.

As for the parameters of "red", "green" and "blue", changing these colors can change the fidelity of the original color, for example, the original red can turn into yellow and the original blue can turn into blue.
