How to measure the verticality of an iron tower using a theodolite

1? Set up two total stations (theodolite can also be used) at appropriate positions in two directions perpendicular to the center of the tower and equidistant from the center of the tower;

2. At station A, use face left to project the tower tip to the center O of the polygon formed at the ground point of the tower, and mark A1 and A2; then use face right to project two points, A3 and A4;

3 ? Connect lines through A1 and A2, A3 and A4 respectively;

4 ? Project four points B1, B2, B3 and B4 at station B in the same way;

< p>5 ?Connect the lines through B1 and B2, B3 and B4 respectively;

6 ?Find the center P of the quadrilateral surrounded by the above four line segments;

7 Measure the length of OP r;

8 ? Tower inclination angle θ = arctan (r/h), where h is the height of the tower.
