The victory of Erzhuang is also called Taierzhuang Campaign, Taierzhuang Campaign and Taierzhuang Campaign. This victory is another great victory of the people of China since the all-round anti-Japanese war of the Chinese nation, following the victory of Pingxingguan and other battles. After the Japanese invaders successively occupied Nanjing and Jinan on February 3 and 27 of 1937+ 17, they decided to take Nanjing and Jinan as their base areas and attack Xuzhou from the north and south along the Jin-Pu Railway, so as to quickly realize the invasion plan of destroying China and connecting the north and south battlefields.

In the fierce fighting that lasted nearly half a month, China's army made great sacrifices, with 46,000 troops participating in the war, 7,500 casualties and missing, and more than 6,543,800 Japanese troops were annihilated. It dealt a heavy blow to the fierce flame of the Japanese invaders and greatly inspired the confidence of the military and civilians throughout the country in persisting in the war of resistance.
