In the protection of Dunhuang, the speed and quality of on-site copying can no longer meet the requirements of mural protection and recording, and problems such as distortion and discoloration will inevitably occur in simple photography and video recording. The new digital technology just makes up for these defects, and its characteristics of true input, easy dissemination and lossless reproduction will be the best means to completely preserve precious cultural relics information, permanently preserve Dunhuang heritage and effectively and safely display Dunhuang art.

In 2003, the first three-dimensional digital dome film "Mogao Grottoes" and the theme film "Dream of Dunhuang" in China were produced, and Gao Feng, the artistic director of several tigers, was appointed as the project director. After more than a year, the production of 3D digital dome film samples in Mogao Grottoes was completed as scheduled. In March 2005, the Mogao Grottoes was exhibited in Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, which was a complete success. The 3D digital dome film Mogao Grottoes has been recognized and praised by experts at home and abroad.

In reality, the elements of flying in Dunhuang have been integrated into the lives of ordinary people. In 2008, the biennial Shanghai International Wedding Photography opened, and more than 500 photography institutions and wedding photo studios from all over the country took part in the exhibition with their excellent photography works. Among them, the artistic photos with Dunhuang flying as the background brought by windsurfing photography were well received by the participants. And won the excellent works of Shanghai International Wedding Photography Exhibition in 2008.
