Brief introduction of movie eye theory

From 65438 to 0923, the film theory, creative method and aesthetic system initiated by the Soviet Union were also the vanguard schools of Soviet documentaries. The October Revolution and Wiltoff's editing experience in Film Weekly prepared mature ideological conditions for the film Eye School. In the third issue of LEV in June 1923, Wiltoff published a declaratory article "Movie Eyes-Man-Revolution", proposing that "Movie Eyes" are the creative concepts of "eyes plus filmmakers", "I observe" and "I think", and movie cameras are the "eyes" that "catch life by surprise". It is believed that the real shot of natural form can be reorganized by montage, thus showing the "essence of the objective world" on the ideological level. It is argued that movies must be "the master of observation-the organizer of life as seen by eyes", and it is emphasized that important observation moments must be selected, materials should be organized according to the principle of association and corresponding rhythm, emotional appeal should be enhanced through montage, and the audience should be guided to draw clear ideological conclusions, which should be explained through montage of images and words (political slogan subtitles).
