How to shoot the night scene

Lead: Night scenes are usually compared by many beginners. Not good at it? A shooting scene, so how to shoot the night scene? Come and have a look with me!

How to shoot the night scene by hand?

Hand-held night shooting is the most commonly used shooting method for ordinary people, because it is the most convenient. The biggest challenge of hand-held night shooting is that the light is weak and it is easy to shoot? Paste? .

Basic reference steps for hand-held night shooting:

1) Turn on the anti-shake function.

2) According to the exposure? White plus black minus? The principle of adjusting the exposure compensation is to slightly reduce the exposure by 0.3 to 0.7. Some night scenes can be brighter, depending on the situation. )

3) If the light is too dim and the shutter speed can't reach the safe shutter, see if you can take a closer shot with a shorter focal length.

4) Turn up the aperture to reach the safety shutter as much as possible.

5) If the safety shutter can't be reached after the maximum aperture is opened, then increase the ISO until the shutter speed reaches the safety shutter or the camera can be stabilized from being burned.

6) If high ISO is used, set? High ISO noise reduction? For what? Tall? .

7) Due to the depth of field of the large aperture scene, in order to obtain a larger depth of field to ensure the clarity of the whole picture, we usually focus on the far place.

8) The last point is to hold the camera as steady as possible and try to find a place close to your body to enhance stability.

Generally speaking, the camera has two noise reduction settings when shooting at night:

1、? High ISO noise reduction? (High/Normal/Low)

Noise reduction algorithm will generally destroy the details of the picture, so it is generally set to normal, and only used when using high ISO to reduce the influence of noise.

2、? Long exposure noise reduction? (On/Off)

It is used when shooting with low sensitivity and long exposure to reduce the thermal noise caused by long exposure. It is often used when shooting night scenes with a tripod. The principle of noise reduction is to double the exposure time before and after exposure to reduce noise, so it will double the shooting time of each photo.

3. If the high-sensitivity image quality is really poor, you can consider making it a black-and-white mode, which can reduce the impact of image quality degradation caused by high sensitivity.

Advantages of hand-held shooting:

1). Mobility, the ability to seize opportunities. Compared with tripod, taking photos requires complicated steps such as setting, fixing, adjusting and shooting. Hand-held photography is much more flexible and responsive, and can be used to shoot something that can't be shot with a tripod.

2). Freedom to form a seat. It is not convenient to place tripods in some places, and the tripod fixing machine is still limited in height and angle. Relatively speaking, the position of the hand-held camera is almost unlimited, and people can go anywhere, so the composition can be more flexible.

3) portability. Only one camera is needed for hand-held shooting, and a lot of accessories such as tripod flash can be thrown away.

Disadvantages of hand-held shooting:

The image quality is low. High ISO, large aperture and slow shutter will reduce the image quality, and the most important factor is the blur caused by the slow shutter speed. In order to achieve a safe shutter, ISO is often improved, which will not only increase noise, but also reduce color depth and tolerance.

Double tripod shooting

Generally speaking, serious night shooting is done with a tripod. Because the tripod can be used to shoot scenes with low ISO and the best aperture, the picture quality can be greatly improved. Even the top SLR, if you shoot by hand, the quality of the shot is not as good as the entry SLR plus tripod. So tripod is very important for night shooting.

The basic steps of shooting with a tripod in general:

1) Take the camera and choose the right position.

2) Stabilize the tripod and adjust the position of the plane.

3) open? Long exposure noise reduction? For what? Open? , and set? High ISO noise reduction? For what? Medium? .

4) Turn off the anti-shake function. Turning on the anti-shake function on the tripod will reduce the image quality.

5) According to the exposure? White plus black minus? The principle of adjusting the exposure compensation is to slightly reduce the exposure by 0.3 to 0.7. Some night scenes can be brighter, depending on the situation. )

6) If there is no special requirement, the best aperture is generally used for shooting.

7) If the camera has it? Pre-elevation of reflector? Function, please turn it on.

8) If it is exposed for a long time, such as more than 30 seconds, it is best to wear the viewfinder eyepiece cover to prevent excess stray light from entering the viewfinder and affecting the image quality.

9) Use cable release to start the shutter. If there is no cable release, you can use the camera's delayed self-timer function to avoid the vibration caused by pressing the shutter button.

Tip:

Lifting the center axis of tripod will reduce stability, so try not to raise the center axis.

In some places, you can't set up a tripod, so you can find a substitute, such as putting it on the handrail.

UV mirror will slightly affect the light transmission, and long-term exposure will accumulate this effect. The UV mirror can be removed to increase transparency and prevent glare.

It's hard to focus at night, and it's easy to go back and forth? Pull the bellows? After selecting the subject and focusing, you can adjust to manual focusing mode to prevent pressing the shutter again. Pull the bellows? .

Advantages of tripod shooting:

1) high quality. Due to the use of low ISO mid-aperture shooting, high image quality can be guaranteed.

2) You can use a slow shutter. Slow shutter can record the accumulated light and shoot different effects from human eyes, which is a common means of creative shooting.

Disadvantages of tripod shooting:

1) has poor portability. Compared with cameras, tripods are big and heavy, so it is inconvenient to carry them all the time.

2) Poor mobility. It will take some time to set up a tripod and take pictures as soon as possible, but it is obviously too late for occasions that need to be snapped.

3) It's hard to capture. Does the tripod belong to it? Big guy? It's easy to scare people.

4) There is a dead angle in the composition position. You can't use a tripod in some positions and angles.

Triple flash and fill light

When shooting at night, it is sometimes necessary to fill the foreground with light. The most common scene is shooting portraits at night.

Common problems in shooting night portraits with flash;

1). This portrait is too dark.

Because the lighting power of flash lamp decreases geometrically with distance, ordinary flash lamp can not illuminate people too far away. If it is too dark, first check whether people are standing too far; Secondly, we can see if it is used. If the aperture is too small, it may cause the flash to be unable to fill the light at the maximum power. You can turn up the aperture or ISO, which will affect the depth of field, and ISO will affect the image quality. It depends on the specific situation.

2). The portrait is normal, the background is dark, and no bright lights can be seen at night.

Generally, after the flash is turned on, the shutter and flash will be synchronized, and the default shutter speed is 1/60s. At this shutter speed, the night scene background is generally underexposed, resulting in a dark appearance. There are many ways to solve this situation, such as:

1. Let people stand in the light, keep the brightness similar to the background, turn off the flash and shoot the night scene with their hands.

2. Use large aperture, improve ISO and increase background exposure.

3. Use tripod and asynchronous flash mode. The background is accurately exposed for a long time, and the foreground (person) is instantly exposed with a flash.

3). The colors of the portrait and the background are inconsistent and look unnatural.

This is due to the difference between the white balance of ambient light and the white balance of the flash. You can adjust the color temperature by using flash pre-filter or post-layering.

4). The portrait light is unnatural

This is because the light is too hard. If possible, you can not flash directly at the portrait, but shine a reflection on it. Or take measures such as reflector and high-power constant light to make up the light.

The function of the flash is to fill the light, and sometimes the scenery needs to be filled, but the power of the flash may not be enough. At this time, some light sources can be creatively used to fill the foreground light. For example:

1) headlight fill light.

Because the power of the lamp is relatively large, proper use will often have a better light supplement effect.

2) slow door exposure, long-term fill light with flash.

When using long exposure, you can use the flash to illuminate the foreground several times to make up the light.
