What are the types of Chinese painting brushes?

The common brushes used in traditional Chinese painting include fetal pen, wolf pen, purple pen, pig pen, sheep pen and double-strand brush, among which purple pen, sheep pen and wolf pen are the best.

1, tire brush

The tip of the fetal brush is made of the hair cut by the baby for the first time. Many parents will make fetal writing brushes for their children as a souvenir. According to legend, in ancient times, a scholar went to Beijing to take the exam, taking the fetal writing brush as the top scholar in high school, so the fetal writing brush was also called the "top scholar's pen".

2, Wolf brush

Weasels produced in Northeast China have the best tails, which are called "Northern Wolf Hair" and "Kanto Liao Wei". Langham House's pen is strong and suitable for writing and drawing, but it is not as durable as Yang Hao's and more expensive than Yang Hao's. Common varieties are Zhu Lan, freehand brushwork, landscape, flowers, Ye Jin, clothing patterns, red beans, small seiko, deer and wolf hair (made of wolf hair and deer hair), leopard and wolf hair (made of wolf hair and leopard hair), special long-peak wolf hair and super-long-peak wolf hair.

3. Purple brush

A small part of the ink tip hair on the back of the mountain rabbit is used as the main raw material for making the nib. The purple brush is shiny, the front glume is hard, and the hair shaft is thick and straight. After wetting, it was flattened. After careful observation, the front glume was slender and dark brown and translucent. Purple brush is divided into pure purple, two flowers, three or four flowers, five or six flowers, seven or eight flowers and so on.

4, pig brush

Made of pure bristles, there are white, black and hemp pens, which are characterized by being straight, simple and independent, and the pens are scattered.

5. Wool brush

The pen tip of Yang Hao's pen is made of goat hair, which is very soft and can absorb a lot of ink. It is suitable for representing rounded and three-dimensional stippling, which is more durable than a wolfram pen. Among them, Hu Bi is the most common, and the common ones are Da Kai Bi, Jing Bi (or raising a pen), Lian Feng,, Gaifeng, Qi Ren, Yu Lanrui, Jing Zha and so on.

6, double-sided brush

A brush made of two kinds of fine hairs is usually called a double-stranded brush. Common varieties are double-stranded brush, wolf sheep, double-stranded brush and purple sheep, such as five-purple five-sheep and seven-purple three-sheep. This kind of pen has the advantages of several thin pens, moderate rigidity and moderate price, and is commonly used by painters and painters. There are two types: harmonic type and quilt type.

Extended data:

1, when using a new pen, first unscrew all the bristles, wash off the residual glue on the new brush with water, then straighten it, put the pen on the pen rack to dry, remember, don't cover the pen cover to prevent the brush from rotting or depilating.

2. Don't soak the new brush in water. Doing so will open the bamboo pen, and as a result, the nib will fall off, so please remember not to insert the unused brush into the water.

3. When the used pen is used again, you should first fill it with clean water and then squeeze it clean before using it. If dipped in ink directly, the root of the pen is easy to enter the ink and it is difficult to clean it.

Last but not least, you must clean the brush every time you use it. Although it can't be completely cleaned, the cleaner the better.
