Shooting skills of auto show
The lighting at the auto show is very complicated, with various lighting types, uneven illumination and even different colors. So how do we shoot at the auto show? Let me share the shooting skills of the auto show for you, hoping to help you.
First, it involves many problems to ensure that the picture is clear enough.
It is almost impossible to use tripods and other equipment because of the crowded people on site, so it is the best policy to ensure sufficient shutter speed. Generally speaking, the shutter speed should be at least 1/3th of a second, preferably above 1/6th of a second, so as to minimize the influence of hand shake on the photo definition. However, due to the need to ensure sufficient depth of field, the aperture should not be too large, and generally F5.6-F11 is the best (depending on the situation at that time). Therefore, adjusting the sensitivity is the only way to improve the shutter speed when the spot light is certain and a large aperture cannot be used. Many digital photography enthusiasts are used to setting the sensitivity to the lowest value to ensure that the imaging is fine enough. However, when shooting auto shows, this aspect may need to be compromised. However, under normal circumstances, the lights at auto shows are still bright, so setting the sensitivity to ISO2 or ISO4 is enough, which is a piece of cake for the increasingly popular SLR digital cameras.
second, pay attention to accurate exposure.
In fact, auto show shooting doesn't need to consider the lighting problem too much. For the lighting layout of the scene, most exhibitors will invite the professional lighting engineer of the exhibition company to design it, with the purpose of making the texture and lines of the car show incisively and vividly, which provides great convenience for photographers to shoot, but after all, the scene lighting is different from the studio lighting, and there is no huge soft box to soften the light. Therefore, Some lights are likely to reflect on the car body. If these highlights enter the lens, they may affect the metering system of some cameras, resulting in underexposure. Point light sources of these highlights should be avoided as much as possible. If you can't avoid it, you need to adjust the exposure compensation according to the exposure situation, and the specific increase or decrease can be judged according to the histogram. The professional lighting arrangement on site makes the whole car full of texture.
thirdly, it is also important to use the flash reasonably.
Many people think that the built-in flash index of general digital cameras is very small, usually the GN value is less than 1, and flashing directly at the car will inevitably leave a bright spot on the car body or window glass, so the flash is almost useless when shooting auto shows. This statement is true in itself, but it is not comprehensive. There is another feature of this flash? When flashing at close range, we can usually ensure very accurate exposure, and when we take pictures of automobile interiors or some parts, we need this small-range light source to make up the light. If you want to shoot a vehicle from a distance, flashing from the side and using it with a polarizer can also make the reflection disappear. Of course, it is best to use the slow flash synchronization function at this time, so that the vehicle and the background as the main body can be accurately exposed, and the shadow caused by the flash can be eliminated. Of course, using the built-in flash is only an emergency. It is better to buy an external flash with a high index, so as to meet the needs of various fill lights in the auto show. In dim light, the flash helps to fill the light, but remember to keep a certain shooting distance to avoid obvious reflection. ;
