The editor can only be opened in single-player mode, not in multiplayer mode. It is the last one in the single-mode pause menu. Maybe everyone here will be disappointed and can't make a movie online? Actually, it is not. The editor is only used to edit recorded videos. Several gay friends organize videos in multiplayer mode, and then return to single-player mode to enter the editor for editing. The role of editing is to reproduce and edit the clips shot in the game from different angles, and so on.

preparatory work/be about to work

Before using the editor, there must be something in the material library (clip organizer). If you haven't shot any video clips before (I call them footage), you can't enter the editor directly, and you will be prompted that there is no footage. This seems to be nonsense. What the hell is a clip without material?

Therefore, to make a game movie, you need to shoot some video clips as the material in the game, whether it is single player mode or multiplayer mode.

GTA5 has two ways to record game videos. One way is to record directly. Press F 1 to start recording, and then press F 1 to save. If you find that you are not satisfied halfway and want to stop recording without saving, press F3. The recording status information bar is located above the minimap. This method has a limited time to record a single clip. During recording, you can see a circle in the status bar, and the red sector inside will rotate and expand like a clock. When the whole circle is red, it means that the time is up, the game will automatically end and save the clip, and then automatically start recording the next clip. There will be a time difference of several seconds and many details may be missed. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp the time when recording in this way, and it is suggested that this way should only be used for shooting short films.

The second is motion capture, which is very practical because there is no time limit. It seems that as long as the computer is powerful enough, it can record as long as it can. Press F2 to start caching. If the picture you want appears, please press F2 again to save all previous pictures. Similarly, press F3 to end the recording without saving. This function is very similar to Shadowplay in NVIDIA Experience Plan. It is recorded in the background in the form of cache, which will not occupy too many hardware resources. As long as this function is turned on, if an event wants to be recorded, it can be completed with one click. The system processes the previous cache and saves it as an official video. Unlike ordinary recording, it needs to start and end manually.

These two methods, after saving, the status bar will display a white circle, which is the one in the lower right corner when the game is loaded, and then a xxx will be displayed next to it. In multiplayer mode, if you record unwanted clips, you will be in trouble. If you want to go back to the single-player game, enter the editor and open the clip manager, you can preview or delete all the captured clips.

Recording mechanism of game video

The video recorded in the game is not a real video. If you look for the source file in the directory, you can find that it is not a video at all. In fact, according to other great gods, it is a script file that records the position and state of each object in the scene at that time. The system will reproduce the scene according to these data, just like opening a set level. If it is a planned film, you must have a good overall consideration before you start recording. When you record in the game, you often don't know the actual effect, and you won't find the problem until you start editing in the editor. The video previewed in the clip gallery is exactly the same as that recorded in the game, and can only be viewed roughly. After entering the editor, you can reproduce the scene from different angles and add filters to "shoot" according to your own ideas. It's not really shooting here, and it won't become a real video until the film is finally output.

About the director mode

This is actually a castrated single-player mode, plus an official plug-in, so that players can shoot more abundant materials.

You can directly enter the director mode from single-player mode, but not from multiplayer mode. You can also enter director mode in the editor. After going in, the first thing is on a trailer of a movie base. Players can choose the characters they need. All characters in GTA5 world, even aliens, can choose two characters in their multiplayer mode, but many characters in single-player mode need to be unlocked slowly with the development of the plot. Each character has different clothes to choose from. Although this model has an official plug-in, its function is relatively simple. You can record videos in single-player mode, director mode and multiplayer mode.

Edit operation

With the available materials, we can officially start production.

First, create a new project. This project is the whole video project to do. Why is it called a project? Because it's really not easy to make such a movie-like video!

After opening the project, there are two parts.

1. menu

This is the first page of a blank project, where you can add various elements, video clips, sound effects, background music, subtitles and so on. After you enter a blank item, you must add a video clip to the Timeline before you can use other functions. Select "Add Clip" and select one from the list, but you can't preview it.

2. Timetable

This is the most important thing, you can see the whole project directly. The largest blue area at the top is video. On the time axis, multiple video clips can be connected in series. Below, there is an area for putting other things, including subtitles, background music, environmental noise and so on.

Tips: ① The songs in radio music are incomplete and can only be used once, that is, the same song can only appear once in the same project. This problem does not exist in background music. Listen to the songs in the menu and start playing directly from the climax, but after adding the timeline, the normal video will start from the beginning.

② Be careful when adding all kinds of audio on the time axis, and add them from left to right in turn. Try not to insert the third paragraph between two pieces of audio, otherwise problems will easily occur. The setting of this editor here is very anti-human. Inserting it from the middle may cause two pieces of audio to disappear, that is, it will be overwritten.

③ After editing all the video clips, make sure you don't need to modify them, and then add other things, such as subtitles and audio. In general, other elements added to the Timeline are not bound to video clips. For example, a video clip corresponds to a subtitle, and this clip is preceded by a clip. If a new clip is inserted between these two clips, or the last clip uses slow/fast shots, it will affect the length of one clip, which will cause the next clip to move back on the time axis, but the subtitles will not move with him, which will lead to the dislocation of the subtitles. So is the audio.

Edit clip

Select a clip on the timeline, and then press enter to start editing. After entering the editing screen, first in the start position. There will be a timeline of this clip at the bottom of the screen. Place a marker point on the timeline to edit the picture of this point. Play the clip first, and then place marker points as needed. Items that can be edited here include camera, effects, sound, playback speed and so on.

In fact, it is the angle of view. There are three types of cameras. The first is the game camera, which is the perspective of the game itself, which is very limited. The second type is the peripheral camera, which is divided into five types: front, back, left and right, and has great limitations. The third is the free viewing angle, which allows us to set the position and angle of the camera at will, but note that the movable range of the camera is limited, and it is only allowed to move in a relatively small space, so it is difficult to take photos of the characters themselves. After choosing the free viewing angle, select the edit camera at the bottom, pay attention to the key prompts at the bottom of the screen, and move the camera. Regarding the connection between two free perspectives, the editor provides three ways: direct switching, smooth fusion and linear fusion. If you select "None" as the blending mode, you can switch directly from the lens of the previous camera to the next one. Sometimes it seems abrupt and incoherent, so the following two mixing modes come in handy. Sorry, the specific operation of these two modes ... just try more. I only said that the most important thing is that smooth mixing is not suitable for high-speed moving situations, such as driving, flying, and so on. Linear mixing is more suitable for shooting high-speed motion. But be careful not to abuse these two mixtures, otherwise the effect will be very strange.

Using these two blending modes between two shots, the camera will automatically move from the previous shot until the next shot.

(1) Sometimes, two shots need to be mixed, but they need to stay in the last shot for a longer time. At this point, between the two shots, choose a suitable position and put another shot, and turn off the mixing of the last shot and the new shot.

(2) If the effects of these two blends are not ideal, you can try to use multiple directly switched shots, and each shot uses "moving with the target at the same time" to achieve the effect.

Various filters can be set here, and other picture parameters can also be adjusted, so I won't go into details.

sound

The sound here is different from the radio music, background music and surrounding sound effects in the menu outside. Including all kinds of explosions, collisions, vehicles passing by and so on. The sound set here is only for one shot and will not conflict with those above. If used properly, the effect is good.

skill

① Surround sound effects do not conflict with radio and background music, but radio music and background music will. In addition, if the video is recorded in the game, the ringtone of the mobile phone in the game will also be recorded, which will not conflict with any other added sound.

② If other audio or subtitles are added to the external menu, they will appear when editing the clip, but it is very painful to adjust. Adjusting the volume needs to be set shot by shot, which can be set in the sound option just mentioned, but just press C to copy and jump to the next shot, but it hurts. If there is sound in the settings corresponding to the copied shot, such as the sound of cars passing by, it will also be copied when copying, so the whole clip will be filled with the sound of cars passing by. ...

Cohesion between fragments

The starting point and ending point of each clip are automatically marked, and their shapes are different from their own. Where you are online, the "switch" function will appear at the bottom of the menu, so make good use of it.
