The purpose of dynamic photography of cervical vertebra is to judge the stability of intervertebral joint of spine during exercise.

Hyperextension and flexion lateral radiograph is an X-ray lateral radiograph taken when the cervical or lumbar spine is extended or flexed as far as possible, also known as dynamic radiograph, which is used to judge the stability of the intervertebral joints of the spine during exercise.

The dynamic position of cervical vertebra is an X-ray taken when the cervical vertebra is overstretched and flexed.
