Realistic point of artistic photography

Before, international film festivals were not classified. Later, when there were more photos, they were divided into two categories: color and black and white. Later, more and more photos took part in the competition, and there were many classifications. Now they are integrated. In any case, it is certain that the gold content of international film festivals is higher.

I remember that at an international film festival, after all the judges auditioned the photos, they had to re-examine the unsuccessful photos and select the ones they thought were good. I remember that time, I chose a photo of the Tibetan Lama from the unsuccessful photos. Unexpectedly, this photo passed all the way in the later selection and finally won the gold medal. What I want to tell the photographer is that the photos with good content and form in the eyes of the judges are not necessarily the best, so the photographer must first believe in himself and affirm his work. With the judges together, there will be controversy. Just like in a photo exhibition, the judges had a huge disagreement on the photo of "The Sun and Man", and the selection was that the minority was subordinate to the majority. Now, I'm afraid everyone has their own criteria to judge whether this photo is good or not. The judges have their own aesthetics, which leads some photographers to study the judges' preferences, and some photographers suspect that there is something fishy in the selection process. It's not that complicated. As far as my experience is concerned, it is fair and just.

The selection of works of art means that photographers can adjust photos at will and even cut collages. I don't agree with this. Since photography has something to do with light and shadow, I don't advocate exaggerated colors. Try to restore colors as truly as possible, and don't rely too much on technology. Don't leave the basics of photography. My point of view is still more traditional. In short, it is closer to reality. I believe that a good work must be excellent in content and form, healthy and progressive.
