Beihai, alias Zhucheng, is a prefecture-level city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Beihai was founded in the Republic of China 15 (1926). After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it successively belonged to Qinzhou District of Guangdong Province (Beihai City first, then Qinzhou Town), Qinzhou District of Guangxi Province (where Qinzhou Town and Lianzhou Town are located), Hepu District of Guangdong Province (where Lianzhou Town is located) and Qinzhou District of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Located at the southern tip of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the northeast bank of Beibu Gulf.

The origin of the name

Beihai, a fishing village with the same name from Dijiao Town, Haicheng District, Guangxi, was named Beihai Village because the earliest developers here were Tujia fishermen who lived in a village near the safe haven for many years, facing Beihai (Beihai is a peninsula).

The name Beihai has a long history. Beihai place names were formed in the first year of Kangxi (1662), and the Qing government designated "Beihai Town Mark" as the title of Beihai place names. Because this statement has been frequently reported and widely quoted, it has become a statute.

According to the records of literature and history, the word "Beihai" can be traced back to the Song Dynasty and even the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. During this period, "Beihai" was called by foreigners more. 1June, 965, Beihai was transferred from Guangdong Province to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the name of Beihai has been used ever since.
