A generation of classic Sony PFR-V 1 headphones (or speakers) to play.

SonyPFR-V 1, I wonder how many people still remember this unprecedented earphone product? According to the designer's original interview, the positioning of this product is not based on headphones, but on the concept of wearing speakers. Talking to another friend about the model of this product, I found that there are almost no follow-up products in Sony's history, including cameras and camcorders. Is this some kind of curse?

I remember that when it was published, it attracted the attention of many 3C editors, but not because of its sound quality, but because of its shocking appearance. My friend bought this earphone at a foreign sale a year or two ago. The price is directly cut by half compared with when he went public, which is simply a great value from the collection concept. (PS: You can still find it on Yi Bei, and the price is the same as before! )

Open the leather storage box, besides the earphone, there is also a BAM-P 1 portable earphone amplifier, and the positioning of this earphone is indispensable. When you take out PFR-V 1, you can see two strange monomers on the left and right, as well as the ear canal. If you put the whole earphone on your head, it seems that the two monomers are like satellites. Do you want to take it out? At least I don't really want to. ...

The feeling of wearing it is also very subtle. This earphone is fixed on the head through the headband and the fixing frame placed next to the ear. Remember that the bassoon must be plugged into the ear. If the bassoon is not plugged in properly, the sound will also be affected.

Although this earphone is positioned as a portable earphone, both the weight and the wire selection of the earphone meet the requirements of portability, but it is really terrible to take it with you. This earphone has no sound insulation ability at all, so people nearby will hear what you are listening to, and you can also hear what is nearby. It is really inappropriate to take it with you. However, the quality of this headset is not bad, even quite individual, but it is suitable for savoring in a quiet place.

V 1, driven by ordinary MP3 walkman, has no earphone amplifier, and the timbre is cool, the tenor is thin and loud, and the bass is implicit, which my friends think is a bit similar to the style of EtymoticER-4 series. The vocal position of V 1 is quite satisfactory, and there is no feeling of leaning forward or backward. If you don't stick the catheter into your ear hole, it's hard to feel the bass, and the sound stage is quite wide, creating a feeling of a trumpet.

Using P 1 ear amplifier, the overall timbre is still cold, but it will be slightly warmer, and the sound stage position has not changed significantly, which should be due to the unique single design, but more importantly, the low frequency will be much more obvious, and the overall trend is biased towards three-frequency balance; Replacing V 1 with a USB all-in-one with an amp for low-impedance headphones makes V 1 more powerful, which also shows that general portable information sources can't meet V 1. It is worth noting that no matter how it is driven, the low frequency of V 1 will not become a cohesive vibration or a loose overall pattern, which is more like the feeling of a two-channel full-frequency speaker.

SonyPFR-V 1 is definitely a good earphone in terms of sound performance, but it is not a qualified earphone in terms of wearing feeling and characteristics. Because of the weird way of wearing, this earphone can only be a narcissistic product. It is more like a personal earphone than an earphone. This design can't help but remind people of AKG's K 1000. Like an earphone, it is also facing the future fate.
