Many movie friends don't seem to care about the maintenance of tripods. During use, the tripod may be damaged due to negligence. And we have specially summarized the maintenance tips of these tripods, hoping that film friends will pay more attention in the use process to avoid unnecessary losses.

At present, there are two kinds of tripods on the market, one is carbon fiber tripod and the other is aluminum alloy tripod. Due to different materials, the maintenance methods are also different.

Carbon fiber tripod: pay special attention to avoid sharp objects and collisions, because it is likely to cause the woven structure of carbon fiber to be destroyed. Medical vaseline can be applied to the surface of carbon tubes to increase their luster.

Aluminum tripod: In case of water, be sure to wait until the water is dry before turning it off.

1. If full deployment is not required, generally open the thick leg pipe first. That is to say, according to the principle of "thick first, then thin", use thick-section foot tube first, and then lengthen the detailed foot tube if it is not high enough. However, there are special exceptions. For example, when shooting in shallow water, the thin foot tube should be unfolded first to prevent the sand in the water from entering more joints of the foot tube. After use, it should be washed with clear water, thoroughly dried and then folded.

2. If you need to reach a certain height, you should fully unfold the tripod and then raise the central axis instead of being lazy and directly raising the central axis. Because raising the central axis will move the center of gravity up, the raised part of the central axis is easier to shake.

Don't walk around with your camera. This is a common misunderstanding. At present, most of the stands use tables, which may damage the camera.

4. When disassembling the camera, hold the camera tightly first, and then loosen the knob that controls the quick assembly board. Pay special attention when using telephoto lens, because it is easy to ignore its weight when adjusting the tightness, and pay attention to slow adjustment when adjusting the damping (adjust the elastic knob of the ball on the table) to avoid the equipment damage caused by the instantaneous disappearance of the ball locking force.

5. After being used in cold weather, it should be thoroughly dried indoors and then put away, otherwise it will get stuck when being used outdoors. Because it enters the outdoor in cold weather, the indoor hot air will liquefy into small water droplets and attach to the tripod in cold weather. Although the water on the surface dries easily, the water in the foot tube is still there. If it is taken outside the cold room, the water in the pipe is easily stuck and cannot be pulled out after condensation. Therefore, it should be thoroughly dried indoors before use.

6. After use, please store it upright to avoid being squeezed sideways. If it is left for a long time, it should be cleaned and greased first, then all knobs should be loosened (to avoid mechanical fatigue of knobs), packed in plastic bags and placed upright in a dark place.

Q: When do you need cleaning?

Answer: When the foot tube enters the sand or is used in shallow water, it needs to be cleaned. Or the preparation time is long, it should be cleaned in advance.

Take the cleaning knob tripod as an example.

Get these ready first:

Cleaning pen/sponge/soft toothbrush (one of three choices), non-woven fabric, disinfectant alcohol/anhydrous alcohol, waterproof grease/medical vaseline.

Steps:

1. Dismantle a foot tube first (to avoid confusion and slight differences), dismantle a cleaning section and clean it in sections. After disassembly, the position and direction of the inner gasket must be recorded. Usually, there are two sliding plates and three stop rings (while some legs are designed with fixed pads, so you don't have to worry about the problem that the pads fall off or can't be put back after disassembly). When two skateboards are butted, three stop rings need to be arranged on the inner tube in sequence and direction, so they can be marked as A, B and C respectively, which is convenient for correct installation, otherwise they may not be put back or stuck.

2. When cleaning the tripod, please use sterile alcohol or anhydrous alcohol (quick drying). You can use a cleaning pen or sponge to wipe it, or you can use a soft toothbrush if you don't have it. If there is sand in the pipe, it needs cleaning. If not, there is no need to clean the inside of the test tube. After cleaning, dry it with non-woven fabric.

3. Apply a little waterproof grease to the thread of the foot tube (be careful not to use lubricating oil, which will flow and corrode plastic parts), or apply medical vaseline, but don't touch plastic parts such as lock sleeve to avoid corrosion due to long contact time.

4. put it back section by section as it is. When installing, pay attention to that the notch of the stop ring is aligned with the notch at the butt joint of the slide plate, then align with the convex groove in the pipe, and then tighten the knob. The other two foot tubes also operate in the same way.

5. After cleaning, wait until the tripod is completely dry, then put it back.
