Little Fun in Travel —— Sketch Course

The so-called' light painting photography' refers to a photographic method that uses long-term exposure to create special image effects through the change of light source during exposure. Using the camera's long exposure mode to shoot the moving track of the light source can give full play to creativity and draw arbitrary images in three-dimensional space with light.

What are the necessary items for shooting?

I. Photographic equipment

Camera or mobile phone with long exposure function:

Almost all SLR cameras have long exposure function;

Most micro cameras have long exposure function;

Very few card cameras have long exposure function;

Most mobile phones can achieve long exposure shooting through third-party software, and a few mobile phones have their own light drawing mode.

2. Stabilize the equipment

A tripod is used to fix the camera to prevent the picture from shaking during long exposure.

3. Light source

Anything that can shine, such as flashlight, mobile phone screen, etc. Matching with refracted or scattered light items, such as colored beverage bottles, can achieve unexpected results.

put on

Painters should wear dark clothes, preferably black or dark blue, without obvious reflective materials. You can choose the model according to the theme.

Two. Location selection

The main body of light painting is mostly shot in dark environment, usually outdoors or in a darkroom at night. The darker the ambient light, the better the shooting effect.

Three. Equipment preparation

Fix the camera with a tripod, select the shooting angle, illuminate the required shooting position with a light source and focus manually, and adjust the following parameters: shoot the ideal exposure value:

Shutter: Choose B-door or T-door to shoot as needed;

Aperture: commonly used F8~ minimum;

ISO: commonly used 100~800.

Four. Start shooting:

Write in front of the camera lens, and the words should be written backwards;

If you want to keep the line thickness of the light source as consistent as possible, you need to make the luminous part of the light source always face the camera lens during the movement. If you gradually deviate from the lens, the line thickness will become thinner and thinner. It is difficult to control the thickness of lines, which needs more practice.

Don't let your body or other objects block the moving light source;

Don't stay in the same place for a long time when painting, it is easy to leave a residual image;

Refers to other objects, such as bushes, stones, etc.

skill

1. It is very important to conceive in advance, what you want to express, how to compose the picture, the type of light source, the shooting location, etc.

2. It is essential to take more shots, especially when there are multiple light sources, so we should find a balance point on the exposure value;

3. It is suggested to equip the camera with a shutter controller to ensure the purity of the picture and save manpower;

4. The light source should be easy to switch on and off to avoid unnecessary smear during imaging;

5. Pay attention to safety. Before preparing the equipment, light up the site, get familiar with the site, and avoid falling.
