Basic methods and steps of indoor single interview lighting
Main light:
As the main light source, the main light is usually called the key light. Use a PL- 1250 photographic lamp, and its position depends on what artistic effect you want to show. It can be supported by a supporting lamp holder or a microphone holder. PL- 1250 hot shoe connector has a 3/8 standard microphone screw connector, which is also the most convenient and cheap support frame.
Generally, the main light is placed on the left or right front side of the subject, which can also be determined according to the lighting conditions on the spot. The horizontal position is usually about 50cm~ 100cm higher than the lens and about one meter away from the subject. The lighting arrangement in different positions will produce different effects.
Once the position of the main light is selected, the basic lighting characteristics of the image can be determined and controlled. We use a PL- 1250 camera lamp as the main light to create highlights and shadows, so that the image has a three-dimensional visual effect-three-dimensional. In practical application, we can adjust the brightness of the lamp properly or use the soft light board on the lamp body to change the shadow intensity and control the irradiation area.
Auxiliary light:
The main lamp can cast a deep shadow, and the function of the auxiliary lamp is to add some light to the shadow in order to highlight the details of the shadow. The auxiliary lamp can be placed far away from the subject and supported by the supporting hand-held lamp holder, which is convenient to move and adjust the irradiation effect. It can also be supported by a microphone stand or mounted on a hot shoe of a camera.
The dominant position of the main lamp determines the basic tone of the light area in the shadow, so the intensity of the auxiliary lamp must be weaker than that of the main lamp, or the soft light board on the lamp body can be used by adjusting the brightness of the lamp.
One of the reasons for adding auxiliary lights is that when shooting, shadows usually look darker in the image than those seen by the naked eye. Auxiliary lighting can make the final image look more natural.
The ratio of auxiliary light to main light depends on the effect you want. If you need an effect with almost no shadow and contrast, you can use an auxiliary lamp with the same intensity as the main light. Instead, you should use weak auxiliary light, or not at all.
