How can we learn to appreciate Kunqu opera?
My love for Kunqu opera began in high school, because I always liked Peony Pavilion, but I didn't know the specific plot and it was difficult to study those ancient operas, so I suddenly wanted to listen to Kunqu opera. It was also the first Kunqu opera I listened to. Teacher Bai Xianyong's youth version of Peony Pavilion, when I first listened to it, I couldn't recognize the words. I need subtitles. After listening for a long time, I can gradually remember some lyrics. In the play, Du Liniang has a soft figure, soft voice and eyes. Liu Mengmei is exquisite and elegant, affectionate and polite.
Kunqu opera is the "source of thousands of songs" and a cultural treasure, which needs our generation to inherit and carry forward.
