Namibia is a country rich in mineral resources. The main mineral resources are uranium, iron, manganese and a large number of stone mines.

The local iron ore reserves are very rich, and most places have high iron content, including weathered stones. The sand in the local desert is weathered by stones, and the content of iron oxide is much higher than that in other places. The color of iron oxide is red, and the so-called rust red is named after the color of iron oxide.
