In portrait photography, the most important thing should be light.
In photography and painting,
Every painting should have "three major aspects and five major tones".
The more obvious the grade,
The more beautiful and vivid the picture is.
After seeing this ball, we can clearly see that it has bright surface, gray surface, light-dark boundary, dark surface, projection and reflection. Of course, there may be no projection and reflection in our shooting, but the basic bright surface, gray surface, light-dark boundary and dark surface basically exist. The more information the whole picture contains, the more vivid the picture will be. So as long as it is light, it can produce four fundamentals. How can we shoot all the "three major aspects and five major tunes" with all the light? Today, let Teacher Shi Jiayi tell us something about the later period of cloth lighting.
Gu Ming is incredible, that is, dividing his face into two parts, one bright and the other dark, will create a strong sense of drama, which is suitable for people with strong personality or temperament, such as artists and musicians. Of course, masculinity will be heavier.
If you use this lighting method, you will see a highlight outline on the left face of the model, that is, the right side of the picture. It is good that this outline can be refined, but even if it is not refined, this kind of light layering will be produced, which will be very good.
In order to create this effect, the light source is placed at 90 degrees on the left or right side of the object and can be moved forward or backward slightly to adapt to different shapes. Note that the light must change with the face of the object, and the light will change with the rotation of the head.
The picture below is a simulation of a circular light photo. The black background represents the forest, and the photographer hits the sunlight on the object with a white mirror.
This is to let the nose cast some shadows on the cheeks. To achieve this effect, the light source should be slightly higher than the eye level, 30-40 degrees inside the camera. (depending on everyone's face)
The light source is slightly higher than the eye level, and the projection of the nose is not connected with the shadow of the cheek, but slightly downward. The light source should not be too high, so that the light of the eyes is lost.
The name comes from the lighting technique commonly used by the painter Rembrandt in painting. Different from circular lighting, the nose is connected with the shadow of the cheek, but more importantly, the eyes on the other side of the shadow still have eyes to keep the face bright and the photos are dramatic.
When shooting, the subject should turn his back slightly to the light source, and of course the position of the light source should be higher than the head, so that the shadow of the nose is connected with the shadow of the cheek. However, not everyone is suitable for this kind of lighting. People with large cheekbones will be ideal, while people with low noses will be more difficult. Therefore, lighting should choose the right object and cannot be generalized.
The name of this cloth lamp comes from the butterfly-shaped symmetrical shadow made under the nose. The positive light of the light source set behind the camera will create the shadow of cheeks and chin, so it will highlight the cheekbones of both cheeks, make the face look thinner and the chin sharper, which can enhance the charm of the object. However, sometimes a reflector or even the object itself is used to fill the light.
This is not a specific lighting setting, but a style that can be used by teachers, rings and Rembrandt. In fact, the method is very simple, that is, turn the light-receiving surface to the lens, so that the light-receiving surface will look wider, and then the whole face will look bigger and wider, suitable for people with thinner faces.
Contrary to wide light, the darker side faces the camera, which makes the face look sharper, more stereoscopic and atmospheric.
Divergent light, also known as "frontal light", refers to light with roughly the same projection direction and shooting direction. When the light is smooth, the subject is evenly illuminated, the shadow of the character is blocked by the character itself, and the tone is softer. It is easy to photograph the texture of the object surface and restore the color well along the light. This kind of light can show a comfortable environment and atmosphere, and at the same time, it can completely depict the details of the characters, such as delicate skin and makeup.
Skills:
1. Outdoor lighting sometimes uses weak light as auxiliary light when processing light outdoors, but if the outdoor light is too strong, we should try our best to reduce the influence of light by adjusting the camera.
2. Photometry adopts high-profile smooth shooting, and all objects will be clearly displayed in front of you. Exposure control is very easy. For digital SLR cameras, the ideal exposure effect can be obtained by using average photometry to shoot scenes in a smooth environment.
If the light in the early stage of shooting doesn't make the photo achieve the expected effect, we can also remedy it through the later stage.
This picture is the original picture. The light received by the model's face is relatively uniform and the picture is relatively flat. This situation can't be filmed, so I will remedy it from the later stage.
Some dark corners and auras were added around. Although there are not many layers on the model, some simple modifications have been made in the whole environment to make the picture have a gray part in the middle.
What effect can the same picture bring to the tone level of light and shadow in the later stage?
aftertreatment
Before treatment
Summary:
1. The more tones (light, gray and dark) there are on the screen. The better the picture.
2. Creating shadows in a dark environment will have a strong effect.
Even in bright photos, there should be excessive light and shadow.
4. If the characters or themes are not rich in colors, you can create more colors with the help of the environment.
Shadow is not necessarily the result of flash, all light sources, including sunlight, can produce shadow.
6. Even if a picture lacks hue, it can be remedied in the later stage of the software, but the hue effect in the earlier stage is irreplaceable.
