What is a serenade:

Nocturnal refers to a genre of piano music initiated by Irish composer Field, and it is also a unique genre of romantic music. Beautiful melody, rich singing, often slow or medium speed, often accompanied by arpeggios and chords. The overall artistic conception is the silence of the night and the expression of people's hearts. Chopin's twenty-one nocturnes are the most outstanding representative works of this genre.

Structural characteristics of nocturne;

Chopin himself likes playing this nocturne very much, and he plays it differently every time. The variations of this nocturne are different in the students' music scores circulating today, which is enough to show Chopin's outstanding improvisation ability.

This song is a nocturne written by Mendelssohn for Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is an orchestra played between the third and fourth acts. This nocturne describes the quiet forest scenery at night, using only woodwind horns and stringed instruments.
