Sony a7s2 is better than fs7 in video shooting.

Set the HDMI output resolution to 3840x2 160 and 25p on two machines respectively. Video shooting mode is the default standard mode. Same lens, same focal length. My distance from the TV screen is about 1 meter. No picture, just talk about feelings.

FS7 can still get images with almost no noise when ISO is set to 1600, and noise begins to appear when ISO is set to 3200. However, when the composition is a close-up of people, even if the clothing is in the focus position, it is impossible to get a sharp feeling.

When A7S is in ISO800, the noise situation is similar to that of FS7@ISO 1600, the sharpness of clothing lines is obviously higher than that of FS7 with the same composition, and the details are very good (A7S is closer to the subject when shooting with the same composition because of the different frames of the two machines).

Initial impression:

When FS7 shoots 4K, it has a good smear (noise reduction) effect in standard mode. The upper limit of common sensitivity can be set to ISO 1600, and ISO3200 can also be used when the light is not strong.

When A7S+ external video recorder shoots 4K, the upper limit of ordinary sensitivity can be set to ISO800, and the noise level can be tolerated when ISO 1600. You can also use higher sensitivity, but it is best to set "details" in the PP menu (there are several parameters that can be fine-tuned to achieve noise reduction), which will be easier to smear later. Otherwise, the later software will reduce the noise.

On the same TV, when A7S is set to high-definition output, it is also in standard mode. At 4K output, the noise level of ISO6400 is similar to that of ISO800. It seems that the computing power of A7S's built-in DSP in HD state is enough, and the noise is reduced in real time. However, when working in 4K mode, the above phenomenon may be caused by the insufficient processing capacity of DSP. Another reason may be the preset problem of 4k noise reduction coefficient in standard mode. In fact, development engineers have been looking for a compromise between picture clarity and noise reduction parameters. Fortunately, A7S can manually adjust the noise reduction parameters, otherwise the lens that exceeds ISO800 in the later period will be adjusted, which will be troublesome.

By the way, I also compared GH4 and AX 100 on this 65-inch 4K machine. The noise levels of these two machines are similar at 4K output with the same sensitivity, and the noise has begun to appear in ISO200.

In July, when A7S+BMD 4k video recorder was used to show a 4k program in Shoot, it was found that there was more noise when ISO exceeded 800, so most of the film used ISO640. However, due to the short time of borrowing the video recorder, I didn't look for the reason carefully. Today I found the cause of the problem and the solution.
