The Classical Gardens of Suzhou

Suzhou is a famous historical and cultural city in China. Because of its beautiful scenery and charming classical gardens, Suzhou enjoys the reputation of "Jiangnan Garden is the best in the world and Suzhou Garden is the first in the south of the Yangtze River". 1985, Suzhou Garden was rated as one of the top ten scenic spots in China. Suzhou is a water town with convenient water diversion, and Taihu Lake is rich in rocks nearby, which is suitable for building exquisite rockeries. In addition, there were many literati in Suzhou in the old days, and some bureaucratic landlords and literati pursued "living in downtown, but enjoying themselves in the mountains", which greatly promoted the development of Suzhou gardens. According to local records, there are nearly 200 gardens in Suzhou, ranking first in the country. Suzhou gardens have their own artistic characteristics in layout, structure and style. Canglang Pavilion, Lion Forest, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden are also called the four classical gardens in Suzhou, representing the artistic styles of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing respectively.

pavilion of surging waves

Located in Sanyuanfang in the south of Suzhou, it is the oldest famous garden in Suzhou, built by Su Zimei, a poet in the Song Dynasty. The gardening art of Canglang Pavilion is extraordinary. Before entering the garden gate, it is surrounded by green water and weeping willows are facing the wind. Leaning against the railing, facing the shore, the rocks near the water are rugged, and the cloister is winding like a belt. The leaky window in the corridor integrates the mountains and rivers inside and outside the park. The park is dominated by mountains, with towering old trees, and the famous Canglang Pavilion is hidden on the top of the mountain. Ming Dow Hall in the south is the largest building in the park, and there are three rubbings of stone carvings of Song tablet hanging on the wall, namely astronomical map, Song Yu map and Song Pingjiang map (Suzhou map). There are more than 500 stone figures related to Suzhou history embedded in the walls of 500 sage temples. There is a fake cave in the southwest of the park, called the stone house of initiation; There is a small building on the mountain to see the mountain building, and you can see the scenery of Suzhou far and near by climbing the building.

Lion Grove

Loumenyuan Road in the northeast of Suzhou City is the representative of Yuan Dynasty gardens. Lion Forest was originally the back garden of Bodhi Zhenzong Temple. It is famous for its ingenious rockery made of stones in Taihu Lake. Many stone peaks are shaped like lions, hence their names.

Rockery twists and turns inside and outside, through the valley, into the maze, within reach. Only by walking along the mountain road can you get out of the hole. Because it used to be the garden behind the temple, the lion forest rockery is a symbol of Buddha, which can't be compared with ordinary rockery. There are ethereal twists and turns on the mountainside, just like a maze of caves, symbolizing the magic of Buddha. In addition, there are misty rain halls, bedrooms, Wenmei Pavilion, Zhenqu Pavilion and other buildings. The long corridor in the park runs through all around, and the walls of the corridor are embedded with book strips and stone carvings, all of which are masterpieces of famous calligraphers.

Humble Administrator's Garden

Humble Administrator's Garden is a masterpiece of Suzhou gardens, which was built in Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty. Wang, the owner of the garden, is named after the meaning of "building houses and planting trees, irrigating garden vegetables, and also for political purposes". Humble Administrator's Garden is divided into three parts: East Garden, Middle Garden and West Garden. The East Garden is surrounded by mountains and waters, dotted with buildings such as churches and orchids. In the west, the water surface is circuitous and the layout is compact, and pavilions are built by mountains and rivers. Among them, the Yuanyang Hall in the main building was the place where the park owner entertained guests and listened to songs at that time, and the hall was fully furnished.

On a sunny day, looking at the outdoor scenery through the blue glass window is like a snow scene. "Who sits on the porch with you" in the garden is a fan pavilion. There are two fan-shaped empty windows on the solid walls on both sides of the fan, one facing the "Yuanyang Hall", and the window behind the mountain just reflects the Dai Pavilion on the mountain, and the top cover of the Dai Pavilion just matches a complete fan. "Who I sit with, the moon is bright and the wind is cool", so when I see the plaque, I will think of Su Dongpo and immediately feel that I can enjoy the moon in the water, and the wind is cool. The central garden is the essence of the humble administrator's garden, and the overall layout is centered on the pool. Pavilions and pavilions are built near the water, and some pavilions and pavilions directly come out of the water, which has the characteristics of Jiangnan water town. Yuanxiangtang, the main building, is located on the south bank of the pool, facing the east and west mountain islands of the main landscape. The pool is clear and vast, the mountain island is full of lotus flowers, there are vines by the water, there is a small bridge between the two valleys, and there is a pavilion on each mountain island, with a snowy cloud pavilion in the west and a frost-waiting pavilion in the east. The scenery of the four seasons varies from time to time. Yu Yixuan in the west of Yuanxiangtang is far from the boat-shaped Xiangzhou in the west. Both of them form a tripartite confrontation with the Lotus Pavilion in the north, and both of them can enjoy the lotus with the trend. There is a winding water inlet to the west of Yuxuan, which goes deep into the South House. There are three water pavilions "Little Canglang" separated by the covered bridge "Little Hong Fei" in the north, forming a quiet water courtyard, and Xiangzhou is located on both sides of this inlet. The layout of the central garden of Humble Administrator's Garden takes the lotus pond as the center, Yuanxiangtang as the main building, and the two islands in the pond as the main scenery. Most other buildings face the water and Yuan Xiangtang. Judging from the name of the building, most of them are related to lotus flowers. The reason why Wang wants to vigorously promote Lotus is mainly to show his noble character.

Lingering Garden

Located outside Nagato, Suzhou, it was originally the East Garden of Xu in Ming Dynasty. It was owned by Liu Rongfeng in Qing Dynasty, and later renamed Hanbilou, commonly known as Liuyuan. In the second year of Guangxu in Qing dynasty, it was taken from Sheng and the name stayed in the garden. Liuyuan covers an area of about 30 mu, with the pool as the center and Bishan Building and Minser Building in the south of the pool as the main ornamental buildings. To the north of the pool is a rockery pavilion, where trees set each other off. The fragrance of osmanthus fragrans on the rockery to the west of Chixi is the best position overlooking the whole park, and there is a long corridor connecting all places. The east area is surrounded by Qu Yuan's cloisters, pavilions near the spring and Guanyun Building. There are three stone peaks standing behind the pool in the hospital, with the famous stone peak in the middle and Duanyun and Yun Xiu on both sides.

A new bonsai garden has been opened in the North District. The west area is the highest place in the park.

Tiger Hill

Tiger Hill is located 3 kilometers northwest of Suzhou City, with beautiful scenery and numerous historical sites, and is known as "the first scene in Wuzhong". The main entrance of Tiger Hill is Broken Beam Hall. Enter the sword stone and the tomb of the true mother to reach the "Thousand Stone".

There is a sword pool in the "unique cave" behind the Thousand-Man Stone, and there are also historical sites such as Bailianchi, Nodding Stone, Yunyan Temple, Lengxiangge, Sanquan, Sun Wuzi Pavilion and Tiger Hill around it. Tiger Hill has been a tourist attraction since ancient times, and every stone and tree on the mountain has a beautiful legend.

Hanshan Temple

The temple famous at home and abroad for a poem is Suzhou Hanshan Temple. Zhang Ji, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem "a night-mooring near maple bridge": "On a frosty night, the wind worries the river, and the fishing fires sleep. Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the midnight bell goes to the passenger ship ". Many tourists in Suzhou put Hanshan Temple on the agenda in order to experience the artistic conception of that poem for themselves. Hanshan Temple is located in Qiao Feng Town, 5 kilometers west of Suzhou. It was built in Liang, formerly known as Miaoliping Pagoda. It is said that Hanshan Temple was named after Hanshan, a monk in the Tang Dynasty.

During the period of 1000, Hanshan Temple was destroyed by fire for five times (seven times), and the last reconstruction was in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. Hanshan Temple was once one of the top ten famous temples in China in history. There are many historical sites in the temple, including the stone carvings of a night-mooring near maple bridge by Zhang Ji, the stone carvings picked up by Hanshan, and the fragments of inscriptions written by Wen Zhiming and Tang Yin. The most famous thing about Hanshan Temple is that Zhong was exiled to Japan, but his whereabouts are unknown. The present clock was collected and cast by the Japanese in 1906. Many Japanese are familiar with Hanshan Temple and can recite the poem a night-mooring near maple bridge. Hanshan Temple receives thousands of Japanese tourists every year.

Qiao Feng

Many Japanese tourists go to Hanshan Temple for New Year's Eve and listen to the bells of Hanshan Temple. They think that when they say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, they can eliminate the disaster by hearing the bells of Hanshan Temple.

After listening to the bell and eating a bowl of noodles, everything will be fine in the new year.

Of course, they prefer to ring the bell in person, because then they can get God's blessing.

Wuxian county

Wuxian City, known as "paradise on earth", is located on the beijing-shanghai railway line in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta. It borders Shanghai in the east, Hangzhou in the south, Taihu Lake in the west, the Yangtze River in the north and Suzhou in the middle. The total area of the city is 3 177 square kilometers and the total population is 97 1 10,000. "Taihu Lake has beautiful scenery and the essence is in Wuxian County". Wuxian accounts for 75% of the 2400 square kilometers of Taihu Lake; There are 72 peaks in the lake and 58 peaks in Wuxian. Among Taihu Lake 13 scenic spots, six scenic spots, Dongshan, Xishan, Guangfu, Jiaotoe, Mudu and Shihu, are located in Wuxian City. Wuxian city has a long history of more than 2500 years, with many cultural relics and beautiful natural scenery. There are 89 cultural relics protection units at or above the county level, including 24 at the provincial level and 1 at the national level. There are three paleolithic sites in Sanshan, exquisite Tang sculptures in Baosheng Temple, colorful arhats in Zijinan Temple, four ancient cypresses in Situ Temple, such as "Qing", "Strange", "Ancient" and "Strange", as well as famous scenic spots such as Shigong Mountain, Linwu Cave, Qiyuan, Tianchi Mountain, baodai bridge, Diaohualou and Xiushan Lishui. Wuxian has a solid industrial base and rich tourism resources. In recent years, a large number of entertainment and basic supporting service facilities such as Taihu National Tourism Resort, Taihu Bridge, Dongshan Hotel and Guangfu Airport have been built successively, and special tourism products such as plum blossom festival, golden autumn osmanthus tour, mid-spring Robbie tea tour, four seasons fresh fruit tour and water town tour have been developed, forming a supporting service system for eating, living, traveling, entertainment, shopping and traveling.

Hangzhou attractions

Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area, centered on the West Lake, consists of lakeside area, central area, Beishan area, Nanshan area and Qiantang area, with a total area of 49 square kilometers.

Hangzhou West Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The scenic spot consists of one mountain (isolated mountain), two dikes (Su Causeway and Bai Causeway), three islands (Ruan Gongdun, Hu Xinting and Zhou Xiaoying), five lakes (Waixi Lake, Beili Lake, Xili Lake, Moon Lake and South Lake) and ten scenic spots (Quyuan Fenghe, Pinghu Qiuyue, Broken Bridge Snow and Liulang Yingying).

The beauty of the West Lake lies not only in the lake, but also in the mountains. Around the West Lake, there are Longjing Mountain, Li 'an Mountain, Nanfeng Mountain, Yanxialing Mountain, Daci Mountain, Shilin Mountain, Nanping Mountain, Phoenix Mountain and Wu Shan in the southwest, collectively referred to as Nanshan. There are Lingyin Mountain, Beifeng Mountain Mountain, Xiangu Mountain, Qixialing Mountain and Baoshi Mountain in the north, collectively referred to as Beishan Mountain. They hold out the pearl of the West Lake like everyone's heart. The height of the mountain is no more than 400 meters, but the peaks are beautiful and the nymphs are beautiful. The north and south peaks are far apart, towering into the sky.

Recommended itinerary: three-day tour.

On the first day, you can visit Liulang Wenying, Santan silver moon, Xiling Yinshe, Gushan and Pinghu Qiuyue.

Liulang Wenying is located in the southeast bank of West Lake, which was originally the "Jujing Garden" of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Garden. Willow trees are planted by the lake. Whenever the fireworks are in March, the willows like smoke and fog sway with the wind, just like blue waves sweeping across the sky. In the endless depths of Liu Yin, sometimes there are warblers chirping, crisp and pleasant. This is the origin of "another village with a bright future".

Saint Tan Yingyue, also known as Xiaoyingzhou, is the largest island in the West Lake. There are lakes in Xiaoyingzhou Lake, islands in the island, bridges between islands, pavilions dotted among them, goldfish swimming in the water, golden flowers flying on the shore, and the scenery is attractive. There are three stone pagodas on the lake, which were built in Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Ming Dynasty. The tower is about 2 meters high, and the tower foundation is a flat stone base. The tower is spherical and hollow, surrounded by five small round holes, and the top of the tower is gourd-shaped. Every Mid-Autumn Festival moonlit night, candles are placed in the tower, and the holes are covered with tissue paper, and the lights are as bright as1May. Moonlight, light and lake light complement each other, and tower shadow, moon shadow and cloud shadow are integrated into one, which is very charming.

Xiling Seal Cutting Society, located at the top of Xigu Mountain, was founded in the 30th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1904), and it is the earliest academic group in China to study lithograph seal cutting. It has made a beneficial contribution to the preservation of epigraphy, the study of printing and the creation of seal cutting. The residential area is located on the mountain, with exquisite garden layout, simple white walls, elegance and nobility. The trails are paved with stones, the veranda is covered with vines, flowers are everywhere, and the environment is beautiful, which is the essence of Gushan Garden. There are bamboo pavilions, cypress pavilions, Zhao Sitang, Huayan Shijing Pagoda, Han Sanlao Stone Chambers and other historical sites in the mountains.

Gushan is located in the northwest corner of West Lake, surrounded by mountains. Although the mountain is not high, it is the best place to have a panoramic view of the West Lake. Gushan Mountain is not only a scenic spot, but also a place with rich cultures. There are Wen Lan Pavilion, West Lake World Scenery, Zhejiang Museum and Zhongshan Park in the south. In the west of the top of the mountain, there is Xiling Seal Society, in the west, there is Qiujin Tomb, and in the northeast, there is a crane pavilion. Among them, the pavilion was built to commemorate the hermit poet of the Song Dynasty, and there is a legend of "Mei Wife Crane". Plum blossoms are widely planted outside the pavilion, which is a scenic spot to enjoy plum blossoms on the lake. The snow scene of the West Lake has always been praised. The artistic conception of "broken bridge and broken snow" is particularly popular. The total length of Bai Causeway is 1 km, starting from the broken bridge in the east and passing through the Golden Belt Bridge to Pinghu Qiuyue. Bai Causeway straddles the lake, dividing the West Lake into an outer lake and an inner lake, and connecting Gushan with Beishan. Bai Causeway, formerly known as Baishadi, was named Gushan Road in Tang and Song Dynasties. Peach willow was widely planted on the embankment in the Ming Dynasty, and the scenery was gorgeous, so it was also called Ten Brocade Ponds. Bai Causeway is calm, frank and beautiful, with graceful weeping willows in the inner layer and colorful peach blossoms in the outer layer, which looks like a colorful brocade belt from a distance. In spring, the warm wind fumigates the noodles and the scenery is excellent.

The autumn moon in Pinghu is at the western end of Bai Causeway, and Bai Causeway is one of the ten scenic spots in the West Lake. There is a Royal Book Building by the lake. The platform in front of the building extends into the lake, facing the water on three sides, and the platform is level with the lake. This is a scenic spot to enjoy the moon and scenery. On a bright autumn night, the lake is as level as a mirror and as clear as a diarrhea. There is a poem by predecessors: "Wanqing Lake is as flat as a mirror, and autumn is better in four seasons."

On the second day, you can visit Huanglong Cave, Ziyun Cave, Yuefen, Yuquan, Lingyin Temple and other scenic spots in the northern mountainous areas.

Huanglong Cave is located at the foot of Qixia Mountain, with apricot yellow flag outside. Some people say that the cave scenery of the West Lake is hazy in the south and pushes Huanglong in the north, which shows its extraordinary scenery. Huanglong Cave was originally a Taoist cave, and later it was changed into a garden for workers to visit. There are scenic spots such as Huanglong Cui Tu, Zhu Fang Garden and Woyun Cave. In Huanglong Cave, the rockery at Tushui, Huanglong, which is the largest rockery in the West Lake, is all piled up with mixed yellow sand stones according to the natural mountain situation. There is an artificial cave halfway up the rockery, that is, the ancient Huanglong Cave. There is a spacious cave on the top of the mountain, which is often foggy and is famous for lying in the cloud cave. In the movie White-haired Girl, Xi met Da Chun Cave, and other scenes were shot here. Huanglong Cave now features folk tourism and attracts many tourists every day.

Yuemiao and Yuefen are located at the southern foot of Qixia Mountain, facing the West Lake. They are temples to commemorate Yue Fei, the national hero of the Southern Song Dynasty. There is a statue of Yue Fei in the main hall with the words "Give me back my rivers and mountains" on it. There is a mausoleum in the west of the temple. On both sides of the steps of the mausoleum, iron statues of four traitors who were killed are surrounded by iron bars. They are, Wang, Zhang Jun and? C. They all cut their hands behind their backs and knelt at the grave, being reviled. Just as a couplet is engraved on the door of Yue Tomb: "Castle Peak is fortunate to bury loyal bones, while white iron casts innocent courtiers". Feilai peak is made of limestone, which is very different from the surrounding mountains. No stone is strange, no tree is ancient, no hole is secluded. Gu Teng, an ancient tree on the mountain, is intertwined; Rock bones are exposed with sharp peaks and edges. Amin Yuan Hongdao once praised: "The peak on the lake should take flying first." Feilaifeng, with its rugged rocks and beautiful scenery, has carved 345 cliff statues of the Five Dynasties, the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty on its caves and cliffs along the stream, among which the Tibetan Buddhism (Lamaism) statue of the Yuan Dynasty is the most precious and has become a treasure in the stone kiln carving art in China. At the west foot of Feilai Peak, there is a cold spring hidden deep in the shade, and the spring water is crystal clear as jade. On the surface of the clear pool water, there is a bowl of underground spring water spewing out. No matter the ebb and flow of the stream, it gushes, flying pearls and splashing jade, as if playing with nature. Ming Dynasty painter Shen said: "The scenery on the lake is hidden, and the cold spring scenery is unique." There is a cold spring pavilion in Chi Pan. Lingyin Temple is located in the northwest of Hangzhou, facing the cold spring and Feilai Peak. Founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it is one of the top ten Buddhist temples in China and the first scenic spot in the West Lake. Hanging on the Tianwang Temple is the tablet of Yunlin Hall inscribed by Kangxi in Qing Dynasty. Kangxi visited Hangzhou in the south, and when he climbed the North Peak, he saw that the forest was barren and smoky, and Lingyin Temple was looming in it, so he wrote these four words on the spot. The main hall, Daxiong Hall, is a single-story building with three eaves and a mountain-resting style, with a height of 33.6 meters, which is rare in China.

Qu Yuan's Wind Loads Qu Yuan on the bank of Hongchun Bridge in Lingyin Road. It is said that there was an official brewing workshop in the Southern Song Dynasty. The pond connected with Jinsha River in the workshop is full of lotus flowers. The summer breeze is blowing, and the fragrance of lotus and wine is overflowing and intoxicating. People call it "? Weiyuan Hefeng ". In the past, the Quyuan was full of wind, with only one monument, one pavilion and half an acre of land, which was cramped in a corner of Xili Lake, quite unworthy of its name. During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, lotus flowers were planted in the Moon Lake opposite Hongqiao in Su Causeway, and a pavilion was built to erect a monument, which was called "Wind Lotus in Quyuan". This scene was revived. Today's "Quyuan Wind Lotus" is still dominated by lotus, and five lotus ponds are planted with red lotus, pink lotus, white lotus and double-petal "heavy platform" and other varieties. The whole park is divided into five scenic spots: Yuehu Lake, Bamboo Su Yuan, Fenghe, Quyuan and Binhu Dense Forest. Every summer, the lotus flowers are in full bloom, with red makeup on their eyes, and the fragrance floats for miles.

On the third day, there will be Nanshan, Huang Yu, Tiger Run, Pagoda of Six Harmonies, Jiuxi, Longjing and Xiayandong in Qiantang District.

Yuhuangshan Yuhuangshan is located between Xizi Lake and Qiantang River, with an altitude of 239 meters. When the wind and clouds are surging, the light fog and drizzle come to my face, but when I see the breeze blowing gently in my ear, I can enjoy the joy of "reflecting the west in the mirror and listening to the waves leaning against Qiantang" at the top of the mountain.

The Jade Palace was once the largest Taoist building. Zhenwu Hall, Daluobao Hall and Sanqing Hall can still remind people of the religious landscape of Huang Yu. There are many trees and forests on Huang Yu Mountain, and the colors of the mountains are different all year round. In spring, wild azaleas are everywhere, clumps and pieces, like rosy clouds floating on the green hills; In summer, the mountains are deeper and the forests are more secluded. In autumn, before the green fades, red leaves come one after another. In winter, the mountains are covered with snow trees, which look like white clouds from a distance. If we encounter several rains in Mao Mao and look up, there is no rain letter at all. It seems that there is really no haze in this mountain. Looking from the mountainside, you can see all the eight diagrams, which really gives you a feeling of wearing them at a glance. Looking from the railing, the vast Qiantang River and the majestic Pagoda of Six Harmonies are accompanied by the sound of pine and bamboo, such as climbing Sendai, riding clouds and waves. It can be called a wonder of climbing the Jade Emperor Mountain Range Rover. Lingfeng Meiyuan, located in the west of West Lake, in Wu Qingzhi at the foot of Lingfeng Mountain, is a famous plum viewing resort in West Lake. Lingfeng Temple was built at the end of Jin Dynasty, and now it is the site of Lingfeng Temple, a new plum-viewing complex and an elegant "gathering moon building", where you can enjoy plums and taste green plums. And renovated the "Dishwashing Pool", "Yue Quan" and other historical sites, including both mountain scenery and gardens. Surrounded by green hills, the valley is lush, the grass is lush, the merlin is like the sea, the pavilions are jagged, the fragrance bursts, and the scenery is very attractive.

Tiger running spring, Longjing and Yuquan are listed as the three famous springs in the West Lake, and are known as "the third spring in the world". "Longjing Tea Tiger Flowing Water" is the "West Lake Double Unique".

Longjing is one of the three famous springs in Fenghuangling, Xishan. The spring water comes from the cracks between rocks, which is cool and dry, and the drought continues. Stir the well water with a small stick, and a peristalsis watershed will appear on the water surface.

In addition to all kinds of stalactites, the three caves in Xia Yan have their own interests; Xia Yandong is famous for its stone carvings. The characteristic of Leshui Cave is the sound of running water under your feet. The cave in the stone house is a hole in the hole, which means nothing. In ancient Hangzhou Qiantang, Phoenix Mountain and Jianggan were the best places for tide observation. Due to the change of geographical location, Yan Guan Town, Haining, located 45 kilometers northeast of Hangzhou, has been the first tidal observation spot since the Ming Dynasty, so it is also called "tidal observation in Haining".

On the day of tide-watching, especially in the days around August 18 of the lunar calendar, there were cars and people on the road. Overlooking the bell mouth of Qiantang River, the tide forms turbulent waves, just like Malik galloping. When the sandbar of the riverbed near Ganpu is blocked, the tidal wave rises by three to five meters, and the tidal range is as high as nine to ten meters. There is indeed a trend of "the sky is full of turbid waves and the rivers and mountains are destroyed". Different places can enjoy different tidal scenes: the tower sees the "first-line tide", the babao sees the "confluence tide", and the old salt warehouse can enjoy the "ebb tide". There are only two such magnificent landscapes in the world, one is the Amazon River in South America and Brazil, and the other is the Qiantang River. It has been dumped by tide watchers at all times and in all countries, and is called "the wonder of the world".

Zhouzhuang scenic spot

Zhouzhuang is located in the southeast of Suzhou and southwest of Kunshan, which was called Zhenfengli in ancient times. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Zhouzhuang was the fief of Prince Wu Yaozi, known as Yaocheng. In the first year of Yuan You in the Northern Song Dynasty (1086), more than 200 mu of Langshe House of Duke Zhou was donated to the local Quanfu Temple, formerly known as Zhouzhuang. In the mid-Yuan Dynasty, Shen Wansan used the traffic advantage of Beibaimian River in Zhouzhuang Town to trade with other countries, so Zhouzhuang became a distribution center for its grain, silk, ceramics and handicrafts, and became a giant town in the south of the Yangtze River. In the early years of Qing Emperor Kangxi, it was officially named Zhouzhuang Town.

Zhouzhuang Town, a small town in Zeguo, is a quaint, clean and quiet place because of the river. It is a typical "small bridge and flowing water family" in Jiangnan. Although it has experienced more than 900 years of vicissitudes, it still completely retains the original style and pattern of the ancient water town, just like a pearl embedded in Dianshan Lake.

The most famous scenic spots in Zhouzhuang are Fuan Bridge, Shuangqiao and Shenting. Fuan Bridge is the only three-dimensional bridge building in the south of the Yangtze River. Shuangqiao is formed by connecting two bridges, with unique shape; Shenting is a quadrangle with A Qing style, with rigorous overall structure and different local styles. In addition, there are religious sites such as the Taoist Temple of Procedure and Quanfu Temple. Bridges and streets in the town are connected, houses are built by the river, boats are swaying and green shadows are dancing. Tourists who return to simplicity can't help chanting: Wu depends on Wu, and Wu Zhongzhou is good at going abroad.

The river in Guzhen District is well-shaped, houses are built by the river, and streets are built by the water. There are 14 ancient bridges built in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties on the river. Wu Guanzhong wrote that "Huangshan is the beauty of mountains and rivers in China, and Zhouzhuang is the beauty of water towns in China", and overseas newspapers called Zhouzhuang "the first water town in China".

About Zhouzhuang

There is a story about Zhouzhuang: 1984, Chen Yifei, who was studying in the United States, created an oil painting "Memories of My Hometown" with the background of Zhouzhuang Shuangqiao. Together with his other 37 works, it was exhibited in armand hammer Gallery, the chairman of American Western Oil Company, in the autumn of 10, which caused a sensation, especially those works created by oil painting and traditional ink painting techniques in China. Art News, an authoritative American magazine, published a review entitled "Dare to Challenge Western Trends", which specifically introduced Chen Yifei's artistic achievements.

In that year 1 1 month, when armand hammer visited China, he bought Chen Yifei's Memories of Hometown at a high price as a gift for Comrade Deng Xiaoping. I don't know why Hammer chose China's "native products" as a gift for China, but it was this choice that made China people really know Zhouzhuang.

The United Nations issues six sets of stamps every year, and the United Nations World Association selects six outstanding painters from all over the world every year, asking them to design and draw exquisite patterns themselves as the first day covers of each set of stamps. 1985, this painting was processed by Chen Yifei and became the first day cover of the World United Nations Association, which made more and more people appreciate the charming scenery of the ancient water town in China.

An ancient town in 900 years

Zhouzhuang, located between Shanghai and Suzhou, is a typical water town in the south of the Yangtze River, where more than 40 films and TV series are filmed.

Zhouzhuang "the town is Zeguo, surrounded by water", and the river runs through the town in the shape of a well. You must travel by boat. Xiaozhouzhuang has ten ancient bridges with a history of 400 to 800 years.

Zhouzhuang Town has a history of 900 years. The river in the town is in the shape of a well, and there are many bridges in the town. There are 89 ancient bridges with a history of more than 400 years. Shen Wansan, the richest man in Jiangnan in Ming Dynasty, lived here. He was so rich that Zhu Yuanzhang coveted him. He personally funded the restoration of one third of the Ming wall in Nanjing. Shen Wansan has many industries all over the country, but he has always regarded Zhouzhuang as his foundation.

Small bridges and flowing water are the characteristics of water towns, and almost every family in water towns has docks. Another scene in Zhouzhuang is that "the sedan chair enters from the front door and the boat passes through the house". "Ship passing by the door" means that there is a small river "Qi Jing" flowing in the middle of Zhang Ting's yard, and there is a 10-foot square pool in Zhang Ting's yard, where the ship can dock and unload.

Wang Xiaomei, the first person to develop water tourism.

In the early 1990s, in Zhouzhuang, the first person who thought of taking guests for sightseeing by boat was an old woman named Wang Xiaomei, whose ancestral home was Shandong. She is a fisherman. 1997 is 82 years old and she is still sailing. She said that she started traveling because life was hard. Now there are more than 60 cruise ships in Zhouzhuang, but Wang Xiaomei's boat can see at a glance that all the other boats are paddling, and only one boat is sculling. Many TV stations rent her boat for filming, and she is responsible for explaining along the way.

Quiet nights in the water town are very interesting. Because the water town is surrounded by a small river, you can only enter the town through a high arch bridge. So far, it is impossible to take a motor vehicle in the town, and the motorcycles of the residents in the town can only be pushed across the bridge into the town, so every evening, the water town is always very quiet.

Longxing inn

If you can stay in Zhouzhuang for one day, you'd better stay in a hotel in the old city. Although the hotel conditions in the town are not as good as those outside, living in the town can better experience the night view of the water town. There is a "Longxing Inn" in Zhouzhuang, next to Shuangqiao, a famous scenic spot. It's a family hotel with only seven or eight rooms, which is very suitable for students.

Rooms in Zhouzhuang Town are tight during the tourist season, so you can contact Longxing Inn in advance.

Zhouzhuangde flavor food

Zhouzhuang has many special snacks. The most distinctive features are Shen Wansan's favorite elbows and pig's trotters. They originated from Shen Wansan's family in the Ming Dynasty, and they are essential dishes for entertaining distinguished guests. The local name is ten thousand three cubits and ten thousand three hooves. The practice is to use a big casserole, and after a day and a night of simmering, the temperature is very particular, and several pieces should be simmered. Cook it properly. If it is too bad, it will be fragile and destroy its original shape. After simmering, the skin color sauce is red and the whole hoof remains intact. When eating, use thin bones in hooves instead of knives. They are sold in local restaurants, and local residents also eat 3,000 hooves during festivals.

Other specialties include Wansan cake, cucumber, shrimp, Sanweiyuan and local fresh water. There is also an aquatic plant water shield in Zhouzhuang, which is used to make soup. It's delicious. Hans Zhang, a writer in the Western Jin Dynasty, refers to the "water shield bass soup" made of water shield and bass.

Wuzhen scenic spot

Wuzhen is located in the north of Zhejiang Province, on the west side of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Land is the crossroads of land and water, commonly known as the junction of two provinces (Zhejiang and Jiangsu), three states (Jiaxing, Huzhou and Suzhou) and seven counties (Wucheng, Gui 'an, Chongde, Tongxiang, Xiushui, Wujiang and Zhenze).

Wuzhen was originally bounded by Chenghe (Chexi) and divided into two towns, Wuqin and Hexi Wuzhen, which belonged to Wucheng County, Huzhou Prefecture. Hedong is a green town, which belongs to Tongxiang County, Jiaxing Prefecture. Shi Zengxi, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, wrote "The Ci of Zhi Zhu in Shuangxi": "Tiaoxi Qingyuan Xiuxi is long, there is water and Yingying Yehui Mine, across a bridge, and Wucheng is across Tongxiang." This is an image portrayal of the topography of two towns in Qing Wu at that time.

The main scenery of the ancient town includes: Tanjiawan, Zhaoming Bookstore, Ginkgo biloba in Tang Dynasty, Xiuzhen Temple, Wenchang Pavilion, Mao Dun's former residence, Li Qiao Bridge, Shangtang, Hanlindi and Youlu Pavilion.

Tickets for Wuzhen 45 yuan and Mao Dun's former residence 10 yuan. The upper hall of the main hall, Li Qiao Bridge, ancient Ginkgo biloba in Tang Dynasty, Ciyun Temple and Shifo Temple are under repair now, and tickets are not needed.

Among the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River, Wuzhen developed late and gained the most experience, so the protection and development of tourism resources are relatively standardized. The whole town is divided into traditional workshops, traditional houses, traditional culture, traditional restaurants, water towns and traditional shops. After such re-planning and layout, the whole ancient town not only retains its style, but also is relatively concentrated, which is not available in all ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. Although I personally don't like such heavy man-made traces, most people still appreciate them, because the whole ancient town has formed a loop, which greatly facilitates tourists. In the traditional workshop area, there are blue calico printing and dyeing, three wines brewing, and demonstrations of making cakes and bamboo utensils. Interested visitors can also do DIY on the spot.

Wuzhen is rich in products, and its main specialties are: blue calico, Chrysanthemum morifolium, silk floss, Sanzhenzhai sauce chicken, menstruation cake, smoked bean tea, Sanjiu liquor, sun-dried red cigarettes and so on. Among them, Sanzhenzhai sauce chicken is the most famous.

It usually takes three hours to travel in Wuzhen. Don't stay in the ancient town. If staying at the Midnight Hotel, the standard room 120 yuan. In addition, the night view of Wuzhen is excellent, and friends who like photography can take pictures of the night view of Wuzhen ancient town.
