What looks as white as a bird's egg on a garden tree?

It's a cocoon with bugs in it.

In autumn, there is a kind of insect cocoon attached to the branches of pomegranate trees, which looks like a jar, like a miniature bird egg, and most of them have openings at the top. The "tussah pupa" on the tree was released by plant protection workers to kill the American white moth.

This cocoon-like insect is called "Zhou's bee bite". Each tussah pupa contains nearly 5000 biting wasps, which can be used to control LEPIDOPTERA pests such as Hyphantria cunea.
