Summer in Indonesia
On July 5, 20 17, local time 18: 14, I landed in a city called Semarang in the southern hemisphere to pay tribute to this 30-degree summer.
Semarang, the commercial port and capital of Central Java Province in Java, Indonesia, is a good city in Indonesia and has no famous tourist attractions.
My RST, the sister of the host family and my partner were picked up at the airport. They had their first meal in Indonesia and became attached to fried food and iced tea.
Iced tea has big ice cubes and peanut butter is delicious.
After flying for two days, I was very tired. When I arrived, I found that there was only a Simmons mattress and a table in the room. I have a bad waist and can't sleep in a soft bed. I'm afraid of heat, but I don't have air conditioning. I didn't know until I arrived that the air conditioning and wifi promised by hostfamliy were only available on the first floor. Plus, I was cheated of money at Jakarta airport before, and I don't like this country very much.
In desperation, we have to make do with it first and position ourselves with our domestic friends who have already arrived. I found that I was far away, a little helpless and a little sad.
There is no shower in the toilet, no hot water, no toilet, and even the squatting pan has no flushing device. Everything can only rely on buckets and a big plastic spoon for scooping water.
I went to the kitchen on the first floor to boil water on the stove, took a bath and adjusted my clothes for the IPS conference the next day. The first night, I was a little disappointed.
On IPS, I met friends from China, as well as friends from Hongkong and Taiwan Province Province.
The first time I took a 60-yard motorcycle, the first time I talked with people from so many different countries in the world, the first time I hid to call the roll, and the first time I talked about politics with a Hong Kong and Taiwan delegation.
Later, I found out that my brother in Taiwan Province Province said, "Come, let's make things clear." Let me have the courage to face my true thoughts in the next month and a half and even in the future.
In the past two days, I made friends with many people. On Facebook's homepage, there are all kinds of words, and Instagram has begun to take a lot of photos with foreign friends, well, international Vivian.
After returning home, I was very happy to exchange what I saw and heard with my little sister and brother of hostfamliy for two days, so I had the first bowl of camp, the first trip to China City and the first "family trip".
At the welcome party, because I was late, my brother from RTHK gave me the only seat. Because RST had an exam the next day, I asked another Indonesian brother to call Go-Jekmo for me. So I met my little brother in Indonesia. It happened that we were having a good time, so he said to take me home. So, my life is like a small public event gradually coming.
Because of the mistake of the project, we arrived a whole week earlier than the start of school, so this week's project gave us their own strange challenges, learning traditional dances and making videos with your group, and also tried super spicy Richeese chicken nuggets at level 5. I am not very close to strangers, but I don't feel alienated from them at all. Maybe there is no pressure, so we get along easily.
At the welcome meeting, we made an appointment to go to my brother's house in Taiwan Province Province on Tuesday. There is no hostfamliy in my brother's house in Taiwan Province province. There are mainland girl Xixi and Vietnamese girl Moon downstairs, and Taiwan Province and Indian brothers upstairs.
On this day, I brought UNO, but I was the only girl who went to the appointment. So after getting familiar with them, I am different from being a leader who is not taken care of or distressed in China. Here, I really became a girl who was taken care of by boys. From then on, Uno witnessed the movie that happened to us.
At the same time, in my memory of Indonesia, there are also ultra-cheap Yakult.
8.49k rp, equivalent to RMB per row of 4.3 yuan.
During the free week, I also traveled with Buddy and other EPs.
Finally, the class began.
As the sustainable development goal of 17 advocated by the United Nations, quality education is the concern and support of the project I applied for, aiming at bringing more high-quality educational resources and cultural exchanges to all parts of the world.
The name of the school I teach is SMA DON BOSKO, and SMA means high school. This is a well-known private high school in Semarang, and many students who graduate from this high school can enter famous universities in Indonesia every year.
My teaching task is to have an English class. Especially since I come from China, I will also take some Chinese classes. But in fact, the local language in Indonesia has become Bahasa, and the popularity of English is very low, so I can only explain Chinese in Chinese classes because it is more difficult for students.
So it's interesting that my Indonesian friend said that in Yogyakarta, people don't pronounce V, so my English name Vivian should be pronounced Pipian.
Schools in Indonesia are divided into public and private schools. Public schools are sponsored by the government, mostly primary and secondary schools, with fewer kindergartens and institutions of higher learning. Private schools are mainly founded by political parties, associations, private enterprises and foundations, with fewer primary and secondary schools and more kindergartens and institutions of higher learning.
In China, high schools that can provide high-quality education, or high schools with good enrollment rate, are mostly public schools, while students of private students are mostly chosen because of good family conditions but poor grades. Indonesia is very different. Here, students with better economic conditions can spend more tuition fees on private schools, receive better education, have richer after-school study life and more advanced teaching facilities. Students with poor family conditions can only go to public schools with poor conditions in all aspects.
So in my opinion, such social injustice and vicious circle may be the biggest reason for Indonesia's backward education.
Then we finally went to Karim Jawa. Because this project is actually a bit spicy, we found an expensive and poor room. We were all self-reliant in China and happened to find a homestay with a perfect balcony.
The islands in Indonesia are really beautiful.
The great racing driver I met. I used to be his first passenger, and on the third day before returning home, he received me again.
The day before Independence Day, I played ball with my school teacher. The first time I played barefoot, it was also the first time I played mixed doubles. The first game starts at 8 o'clock, very good. I didn't lose face in front of another badminton power.
Brother Tai's birthday happened to be a farewell party. He went to that bar again, and it happened to be a ladies' night to let the ladies drink vodka for free. Because of some troubles in those days, it may be that I was stupid, and alcohol may make people emboldened and be held by Hong Kong brother to talk about the past and the future.
As the first China native to return to China, 10 took me to the airport.
I really, really left my heart in Indonesia.
Salute this summer, let me meet you, friendship, affection, and love.
