History of Northeast Film Studio

The Northeast Film Studio, formerly known as the Northeast Film Company, was rebuilt on the basis of accepting the Manchuria Painting Association (hereinafter referred to as "Manchu Painting Association") established in Changchun during Japan's occupation of the three northeastern provinces. Shu Qun, the first factory director, was soon succeeded by Yuan Muzhi, a famous Chinese film artist. At that time, the staff were mainly composed of Yan 'an, Manchuria Yinghua Co., Ltd. and other film workers in the liberated areas. At that time, the equipment and conditions were very poor, but nothing seemed to be difficult for them. Braving the bullets, they produced a large number of war news films (such as "Democratic Northeast"), which have become valuable historical materials today. In order to make these films, some excellent photographers (such as Zhang Shao Ke, Yang Yinying and Wang Jing 'an) sacrificed their lives. In particular, in May 1949, this factory completed the filming of the feature film "Bridge", which was regarded by film historians as the first feature film of the new China film.

Northeast filmmakers are the predecessors of changchun film studio. Changchun film studio is one of the largest film studios in China. It consists of editor-in-chief's room, director's room, shooting room, art room, music studio, production room, magazine editing room, and workshops for artists, lighting, recording, makeup, costumes, props, editing, stunts, and even its own printing factory and film orchestra. Changchun film studio has made hundreds of feature films, especially those with rural themes and war themes. The works are full of original local flavor and unique rough and bold style of black land. In recent years, many works in this factory have a strong tendency to be commercialized. Nevertheless, films like "Chinese New Year" have won it honors. Changchun film studio has made great contributions to the translation of foreign films. Excellent films such as Lenin in 1918, Xia Boyang and The Queen of Sweden, which people still remember, were introduced to the audience in China by it.
