What is the meaning of "OM" in yoga?
OM is a symbol of the yoga world. Yoga believes that at the beginning of the universe, objects frequently emit some tiny and weak sound waves to transmit the energy of the objects themselves. These tiny and weak sound waves are condensed together, which makes the energy more and more concentrated, and many biological-like things are born accordingly. Everything emits different sound waves, but not all sound waves can be heard by human beings. So scientists began to collect these sound waves and found that all sound waves are basically the same. When we make OM sound, its frequency is really 432 Hz, which is the same as the vibration frequency of everything in the universe. Generally speaking, we are connected with everything in the universe at the moment.
AUM
AUM is the vibration of energy from the foot to the top of the head. From beginning to end, there is no beginning or end, and every time is a new beginning.
A- (ah) is the first pronunciation in Sanskrit, which vibrates the position below the navel.
U-(ooh) is a sound maintained in the middle, which vibrates from the navel to the shoulder.
M-(mmm) is the last pronunciation in Sanskrit, which vibrates the position of the shoulder and the top of the head.
How to recite Aum
(1) Relax, sit on the yoga mat, straighten your back, keep your body stable based on our ischium, open your shoulders, abdomen and chest, put your hands together on your chest, and close your eyes.
(2) The first sound was from the navel, and I felt the vibration below the navel.
(3) The second Ooh sounds from the navel, and the abdominal cavity, chest cavity and arms are vibrating.
(4) The third Mmm sounds from the navel and feels the vibration from the shoulder to the head area.
(5) Finally, a fourth silent sound is emitted.
OM efficacy
(1) Calm your mind, relax your body and relieve stress.
When we sing OM, the energy in our bodies will be released with each pronunciation, followed by inner depression and physical fatigue. When the singing is over, our bodies will be completely relaxed.
(2) Lowering blood pressure is beneficial to heart health.
When we start OM chanting, with each pronunciation, different parts of our body vibrate in turn, such as abdominal chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra and so on. And massage our seven chakras in all directions to lower blood pressure and soothe the heart. Feel more comfortable.
Aum chanting is a kind of energy and a relaxing chanting in yoga practice. When you are upset and unhappy, you might as well try. I believe it will bring you a different experience.
