What does LOMO mean?

Lomo is an abbreviation, LOMO = makes our life magical and open! In the 1950s, a factory specializing in the production of military optical lenses in St. Petersburg, the Soviet Union, was named Leningrad Optical Instrument Factory, which was the largest optical instrument factory in Russia. LOMO LC-A was a 35mm automatic exposure paraxial camera developed and produced by this factory in the former Soviet Union. Now Lomo has a new meaning. Lomo is to make our life magical and open, and to make our life open and magical.

Lomo camera is characterized by wide lens (32mm), high speed, strong color and no flash. The darker the light, the better the effect. It also has a special "tunnel effect": the periphery of the photo will appear much darker than the middle. However, these technical or optical features are not characteristics of Lomo. On the contrary, its main attraction is a cross-regional underground creative activity. Celebrities with Lomo: Nobuyoshi Araki, a famous Japanese photographer (he has two photo albums with LOMO), many of whom are engaged in scientific music, such as Moby, david byrne and jarvis Koukol of Pulp Orchestra. International celebrities such as Wong Kar-wai, Issey Miyake, Hugh, Du Kefeng, Eason Chan and domestic fashionistas such as Biz Siyuan all own LOMO cameras. Lomo's goal is to record everything on earth through thousands of snapshots of Qian Qian. Lomo has been looking for that kind of natural improvisation aesthetic. This is a new photography orientation, composition and focusing are out of date, and blur and randomness are the trends and classics.
