What kind of movie is Cleopatra?

Cleopatra is a drama, directed by joseph L Mankiewicz and starring Elizabeth Taylor and richard burton. The film was released on June 1963.

The film tells the story of Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, marrying Caesar for political purposes, thus establishing a powerful empire across Europe, Asia and Africa. After Caesar's assassination, she turned to General marc anthony, and they had a stormy love.

This film won 9 nominations in the 36th Academy Awards with 1964, and finally won the best color photography, best art direction, best costume design and best visual effect.
