Elements of picture composition:
1. Subject: The subject is the most important carrier of the theme and the center of the composition. It is the main object that the photographer wants to express. The subject can be a subject or a group of subjects. After the subject is determined, all means should be used to highlight and exaggerate it; the secondary subject, accompanying foreground, background and environment contribute to highlighting the subject and should be suppressed and downplayed. , to avoid overestimating the guest and stealing the limelight from the main body. Non-essential visual elements should be moved out of the frame without hesitation. The most difficult thing is to choose one of two close objects as the subject.
2. Accompanying body: The broad sense of accompanying body also includes the environment where the subject is located. The accompaniment and the main body form a certain plot, are closely related to the main body, and help express the characteristics and connotation of the main body. It occupies a secondary foil and auxiliary position in the picture. Its function is to deepen the connotation of the subject; portray the character and explain the characteristics of the event.
3. Foreground: The foreground is located between the subject and the lens in the photo. It has a larger image, and the foreground may also be the accompanying body. It can increase the sense of space and perspective in the picture, and is also used to balance the picture. Its shape and color must be in harmony with the subject and the entire picture. It can only serve to set off the subject but not overwhelm it, let alone be used in every piece.
The foreground should be blurred or occupy one or several edges of the frame. It can play a role in constraining the field of view and highlighting the subject.
4. Background: The background is outside the subject in the photo and extends to infinity. It may also be a companion, and its role is similar to that of the foreground. In terms of structural form, it can create a sense of layering, perspective, space and depth in the picture. Common backgrounds include distant mountains, the sky, etc.
5. Environment: In addition to setting off the subject in the picture, the environment can also show the subject's activity area, characteristics of the times, seasonal characteristics, and local characteristics, and help portray the character's personality and express specific feelings. Atmosphere, enhance the sense of space and generalization of the picture.
6. White space: White space (a single color block with no visual content in the picture) is an important aesthetic factor in graphic works. The position and size of the blank space are related to the overall atmosphere and expressiveness. Appropriate blank space can highlight the main theme and increase the artistic conception of the picture.
