Panasonic G95
Compared with the previous generation G85, Panasonic G95 has been improved and upgraded in all aspects. Externally, G95 strengthens the design of the handle area, and the wider and fuller handle has a better grip. At the same time, a number of special buttons are added, and with the design of three control dials, it is more convenient to operate with one hand and respond quickly to the photographer's operation. The pixels of the flip display are also improved.
Panasonic G95
Internally, the CMOS sensor used in G95 is upgraded to 20.3 million effective pixels, and the anti-shake of the fuselage is upgraded to the second generation of 5-axis double-effect I.S. More importantly, G95 became the first Panasonic miniature camera with built-in V-LogL function outside GH series, which can record 4K 30/25P video without limit.
Main parameters of Panasonic G95:
Overall appearance design
In terms of fuselage design, the size of G95 is slightly increased compared with the previous generation G85, reaching 130.4 x 93.5 x 77.4mm, but the fuselage weight is 484g. However, with the increase of fuselage size, G95 has greatly improved the hand-held comfort and handling compared with G85.
Panasonic G95 fuselage front
The widened handle design can be clearly seen in the front of Panasonic G95, which improves the user's grip.
Panasonic G95 fuselage back
On the back of the fuselage, G95 basically continues the color design style of G series. The key distribution is also very suitable, and there is no pressure for one-handed control. Compared with G85, the pixels of the rollover display have been improved, and the picture is more delicate and clear.
Panasonic G95 fuselage top
On the top of the fuselage of G95, you can see the drive dial, mode dial and dual control dial. The widened handle also allows enough space at the top of G95 to put down three independent buttons of white balance, ISO and exposure compensation, which is convenient for users to quickly set relevant parameters.
Panasonic G95 fuselage bottom
The bottom design of G95 is still very conventional, with only battery compartment, external handle terminal and a tripod mounting hole.
Both sides of Panasonic G95 fuselage
On both sides of the fuselage are mainly some output interface bins and SD memory card slots.
Fuselage design details
Panasonic G95 photosensitive element
Compared with G85, Panasonic G95 has been upgraded. It uses a Live MOS sensor with 20.3 million effective pixels, and there is no low-pass filter. The specification should be the same CMOS as the flagship G9. Can give full play to the best performance of the lens, combined with the new Venus engine, showing high-precision, natural images. The sensitivity range reaches ISO 200-25600 (which can be extended to ISO 100-25600).
Panasonic G95 built-in flash
The G95 has a built-in small pop-up flash, which can still help you when you need to illuminate the subject indoors or in a backlight environment. In addition, the flash synchronization speed of G95 has also been improved. From the maximum of G851160s to1/200s.
Panasonic G95 electronic viewfinder
The G95 is equipped with a 2.36-megapixel organic light-emitting diode real-time viewfinder with a field of view of 100% and a magnification of about 1.48x/0.74x (equivalent to a 35mm camera).
Panasonic G95 flip touch LCD screen
The display screen of Panasonic G95 has also been upgraded on the basis of G85, which is 3.0 inches and can be flipped freely. The resolution is as high as 1.24 million pixels, with a ratio of 3: 2, and the field of view is about 1.000%. The screen can be tilted up and down by about 270 degrees, making it easier to take pictures at a higher or lower angle, and the rollover mode also avoids the inconvenience of mounting on a tripod.
Panasonic G95 External Microphone Interface
In order to facilitate video shooting, an independent external microphone interface is added to the G95 fuselage, and it is well placed near the top of the machine, which interferes with the turnover of the LCD screen.
Panasonic G95 output interface
Other interfaces located on the right side of G95 fuselage include external earphone interface, remote control interface, HDMI interface and USB data interface. USB interface charging can conveniently extend the battery life of the whole machine.
Panasonic G95 memory card slot
G95 supports SD memory card /SDHC memory card /SDXC(UHS-II) memory card.
Panasonic G95 battery
G95 uses DMW blc 1200 mah lithium battery as power supply. The endurance is about 290 at most, and the performance is average. However, if you start the energy-saving LVF mode, you can take about 1000 pictures, which is obviously improved. In addition, G95 also supports USB charging, which can also extend the battery life of the camera to some extent.
Video shooting
Although it only belongs to G series, the video function of G95 should not be underestimated. G95 supports recording 3840 2 160 30p/25p high-resolution 4K video and 24P mp4 video movies. When shooting video, LUMIX G95 can output real-time images on an external monitor/video recorder through HDMI. In high-speed video mode, users can record full HD slow-motion video at 120 fps, 90 fps and 60 fps. Panasonic G95 is equipped with a 3.5mm audio interface, which can be connected to a stereo microphone, and also provides users with excellent recording function. In addition, there is no time limit for 4K and full HD video recording.
V-LogL video sample (click on the picture to view the full video)
It is commendable that Panasonic pre-installed V-LogL in non-GH series products for the first time, which provided greater flexibility and dynamic range for color grading in post-production process through logging. The dynamic range of V-LogL is 12 files. LUT (look-up table) and Rec.709 standards are applicable to cameras by default, and users can also customize the VLT format of LUT.
Sensitivity test
Panasonic G95 is equipped with 20.3 million effective pixels Live MOS sensor and Venus engine, and the native sensitivity range can be extended from ISO 200-25600 to ISO 100-25600. Let's look at the actual sensitivity performance.
Schematic diagram of interception area
Panasonic G95 Sensitivity Tester
As can be seen from the test pictures, Panasonic G95 can keep a relatively clean picture within the scope of ISO3200, and the details remain intact. When it rose to ISO 6400, a small amount of noise was visible to human eyes, until ISO 12800 began to increase noise, details began to be lost, and the sense of smear gradually increased. In practical application, it can be used within the scope of IS0 3200.

Edit abstract
As the first M4/3-format miniature single camera launched by Panasonic after the launch of S 1 series in Quan Huafu, G95 is somewhat different. Originally, Panasonic had a clear division of labor in each series of M4/3 format miniature single camera, but this time G95 has built-in V-LogL function outside GH series for the first time, which makes G95 a camera that integrates taking photos and videos. Putting a selling point of GH series on a mid-range product of G series, I believe Panasonic must have his intention. But for consumers, it doesn't matter why Panasonic does this. What's important is that consumers really benefit from Panasonic's operation. They gave us an extra camera, which can take pictures and complete video shooting well.
