Reporter: What's your major? How did you come up with the idea of making a movie?

Wang Dan: I study computer with Hu Wei and Lester. Hu Wei and Lester live in the same dormitory. They live on the third floor and I live on the second floor. At that time, they took their movie "Dormitory Gamblers" to attend the Science and Technology Festival of the School Electronic Department. When it was released, the audience laughed. Only then did I know that there were a group of people at school who had movie dreams like me.

Reporter: Can you introduce the "pioneering work" of "dormitory gamblers"?

Wang Dan: We all like the nonsense style of Stephen Chow movies. At that time, Hu Weiwei and others saw that the camera on the computer could be moved, and thought it would be better to shoot movies with it, so they started shooting with the computer. The script was written by Hu Weiwei, and scenes such as Gambling God, Gambling Saint Fighting for hegemony on the beach and Little Gambling Saint were all burned in the dormitory. The funniest thing is that they regard the CD box as a cash box, and there are 12 cents in it as gambling books, which makes no sense. Now it seems that the early works are naive and rough. I joined after they finished filming this work, and then we formed the Yuanfeng crew. "Yuan", the first of all things, is called "Yuanfeng", which means to create "the first strange wind in the world"!

Wang Dan: Yes, many media reported that it was the first DV work of Shunde college students. In fact, we didn't have DV at that time. We took it with a Fuji -F460 camera, which I bought with the money I earned from my own part-time job.

Reporter: It must be difficult to make a movie with a camera. Is there any difficulty that makes you want to back down and give up?

Wang Dan: I never thought about giving up, because our goal is very clear, that is, to shoot a complete work. At that time, when the heroine was chosen, many students didn't want to come at first sight, but in the end, a female classmate agreed to participate. My camera can only record 20 minutes at a time, and my memory card can only record 1G files at a time. As soon as the memory card is full, we will save the shooting content on the computer, and then continue shooting, recording a total of about 30G, and then cutting out the source file is 9G.

Reporter: How long did it take and how much did it cost?

Wang Dan: They were all taken after school or on weekends. It took about three or four months before and after the shooting, with a total cost of more than 300 yuan, mainly for the car. For example, some scenes were taken in Shunfengshan Park.

Reporter: How did the audience react after the release?

Wang Dan: On June 65438+1October 19, 2007, we borrowed the large classroom in our department for public screening. Before the release, we made and posted some posters. Wang Dan: Yes, at that time, we took movies and newspaper reports home to our parents. My parents scoffed at them and thought I was doing nothing. Hu Weiwei and Lester's family were more supportive and bought them DV.

Reporter: What works did you shoot after you got DV?

Wang Dan: I made a DV sketch "Super Fake Interview". In fact, after filming "Gambling Saint Tang Bohu", we began to apply for the establishment of Creative DV Film and Television Society, which took a semester to be approved. The school sees that we are interested, so let us participate in the IT competition on behalf of the school. We finished filming "Black Boy in Hell", and before the competition, we found that the later special effects could not be used as IT products or IT software with economic value. Later, we searched that there was a DV creation contest at Guangzhou University Student Film Festival. We took Hellscream to the contest, but we didn't expect to win the second prize.

Reporter: Where was this "ghost film" filmed? Is there anything interesting during the filming?

Wang Dan: During the summer vacation, we moved into my old rental house. They said that shooting "ghost films" was very emotional, and some scenes were shot in the unfinished building opposite the Daliang Sports Center. Most of us shoot at night. I'm wearing camouflage clothes, holding a simulation gun and a peach wooden sword. A resident watched us for a long time. After a while, three policemen came to check our ID cards. Later, I ran back to get the hukou book and explained to them that we were college students and making a movie. The police asked us to pay attention in the future. The second time, someone called the police. When the police saw that it was still us, they said to us, "I know it's you. Let's go back first."

Reporter: Does winning the prize have an impact on your development?

Wang Dan: When we took it to the competition, the score was not completely fixed, and we even won the second prize. Of all participating schools, only one is a college. The school is very happy that we won the honor for the vocational college and decided to vigorously cultivate our community. Later, I began to recruit new people, such as directors, screenwriters, photographers, editors, special effects, dubbing, makeup, recording and other like-minded movie lovers.
